I thought some of you XJ owners might enjoy this....
This is an XJ we just built at work that features the brand new 8.5" BDS Long Arm Suspension. I have driven quite a few lifted vehicles in my day and this system is AMAZING! I was extremely impressed with the drivability of this Jeep. I drove it 40+ miles to deliver it to our customer and it performed flawlessly and I don't have a single complaint. It rode smooth and tight even at 55-65 mph. No squeaks, rattles, or shakes.
However, I will caution that this install is not for the novice mechanic! There was a considerable amount of cutting, welding and minor "re-engineering", but the finished product was well worth it.
Here are some specs pertaining to the install:
-BDS 8.5" Long Arm Suspension System w/ 9500 series gas shocks
-BDS weld-on LCA skids
-4.56 Gears
-Tom Woods Driveshaft & SYE
-35x12.50R15 BFG Mud-Terrains on 15x8 steelies (4.5" B/S).... these fit WITHOUT cutting the bumper or fenders.
And a few pics...
*I apologize for the not-so-great photo quality, it was about 8:45pm so daylight was at a minimum.
