Best Eating Game Animal

I lean towards pheasant, sable, and then kudu. My wife goes for Pronghorn, pheasant, eland. Do bullfrog legs count? Steve

I didn't include gamebirds in my list since the OP's question was 'animal', but if they are then chukar rates first for us, pheasant second in the bird category.

Birds are animals.....so are fish.
.
This question is too difficult, choose one favorite? Like favorite book, movie, song or ExPo rig; there's just too many good things to choose from, but I'll try
.
I'll go with black bear (mmmmm bear roast:chowtime:), squirrel (pot pie), frog legs, turtle, rabbit, and let's not forget catfish (mississippi dressed, or better as the catfish cakes my wife cooks up).
.
Hm, I knew I couldn't stick to one.....
.
and it's not only the cook, but also the butcher and the method of the butchering plays a big role in taste.....

Ive had elk from different parts of southwest and central colorado. Very good in all forms of prep. Moose from alaska is awesome too. Deer from my area feeds on sage which gives it an odd taste. Doesnt seem to affect the elk though.

Swimmers
Alaskan Sockeye salmon ocean caught in june before they get red is my favorite fish.
Spotted alaskan shrimp same time of year.

Birds
Turducken with cornbread sausage stuffing

Elk is at the top of my list. Quail is right up there, too. Javelina is at the bottom. But then, I have never tried coyote...

I've had Javelina, and it was quite tasty. But that's all I've tasted in my life as far as game animals go. How would I go about tasting this elk and eland assortment? Any of you are in So Cal and want to invite me over for dinner? :)

never mind. I just scrolled up and checked the locations of everyone that posted above me. No Californians. I guess I'll just have to settle for the meat from the market.

BBQ raccoon is pretty good, not at the top of my list, but definitely edible.
