Actually -Thai for 'Watch out for stone throwing monkeys' which might be weirder?

*(This much mocked named gas and convenience store chain is being sold and will be re-badged. Another sad loss of an historical cultural icon 😕 The sales of their remaining tee shirt stocks are shrinking fast, in case you’re interested)

That signage certainly is a sad (but probably accurate) commentary on the expected level of intelligence of the tourists who dare explore the island’s more remote timber company roads!

I mean, you’d definitely think that any person of normal intelligence would quickly yield way to a huge, scary mechanical beast like that ⬆️ tearing down the narrow road and bearing down on you!

But then again…maybe the average vanlife bro or instagram angel would be way too busy to move aside because they were trying to get that perfect selfie shot of their brazen encounter with danger 🤔

Anything for the clicks, right? Sheesh 😵‍💫

I know that many of us here on Expo who live in the sticks are totally used to seeing logging trucks plying the highways with loads on the way to a local mill. For me, it is almost a daily occurrence but one forgets just how big these off road monsters are in real life. On this recent trip, we saw one with only three cedar logs but with the same height of load as truck pictured on the sign. All bets are off regarding rules of the road and if you happen to have your head down looking at your charging station app on your phone and you meet one, you will definitely become the next roadside attraction!!

Here are a couple of pics I took a week or so ago of the sign leading into the lovely small "north Island" village of Woss, also known as British Columbia's most carefully pronounced Logging town... If you happen to be there and meeting some of the huge locals in Woss who are packing a powersaw with a 5 ft bar in the back of their F350, it is always good to get the name corrrect..... It is Woos like "moss", not Woos like "moose"........
