Big custom camper sightings

One was headed s/b this morning on U.S.101 between Nipomo and Santa Maria. I was headed n/b and didn't get a long look.

That was probably me in #64. Just over a month of ownership.

I am new to this type of vehicle. My biggest surprise so far is the amount of interest in the EarthRoamer XV-LT. It draws a crowd every time I stop to fill it up with diesel, an activity that I am doing more often than I hoped.

My EarthRoamer is getting about 10 mpg averaging 60 mph on the interstate. Is that what others are seeing?

I picked up my ER at the factory in Dacono, CO the first week of January. Seemed pretty busy with two nearly complete ER's and two new Ford F550 chassis ready to start conversion. Looks like the company is doing well. They said they were about to start working on the first XV-LTS soon.

The lucky buyers are growing more and more by the month. We were there in Nov. and Bill says it's really going good at the new location.

Sighted in The Squaw Valley Parking Lot

I've seen this one around there a few times. Someone has a sweet winter ski rig. (Hopefully the photo shows up, never uploaded one here before.)

I gassed up next to a crew cab XV-LT this morning in Huntington Beach at Magnolia/Adams. The driver was the owner's son, and wasn't very chatty. He was surprised that I knew all about it, though. The truck looked new, but the sides of the camper were heavily, properly pinstriped. It looked good and well used, not like a campground queen.

For anyone with an interest in EarthRoamers there is a new owner' forum here.

If anyone is counting here are 7 EarthRoamers all together in Blanding, Utah last week.

Doesn't Get Out Enough
We're not supposed to talk about it, but the unseen ER is the new Stealth ER VIV.

I got a mental image of a flat black ER in the middle of the desert...

After owning a black vehicle for 13yrs that image is frightening. :campfire:
