Went riding today, first time in a long time. Had a epic ride. Single track brush was as high as our shoulders!! It's so green and lush it's amazing here in SoCal! Never seen the trails so over grown! We could barely see the trail! Usually its brown!

One of the reasons why it was a Epic ride.. found this in the brush, just happened to look down!!!

Here are a couple of pics from today. At Elvotas suggestion I found another canyon in the dreamy draw park I never knew existed!

Favorite shot of the day... Maybe not the favorite moment because who likes flats. It does make you take a sec to enjoy the beauty.

GaryMc - Awsome shots. Looks like some great riding. I have never ride in GJ, but that might soon change. The Holy Cross trail looks sweet and the others look like great rides also. I have underestimated that area for bikes. What trails do you recomend to do out there? and where is a "free" camping area close..if possible.

Thanks, the GJ area has oodles of perfect singletrack, much if it very techical. I'd recommend that any every rider coming to the area pick up the Fruita Fat Tire Guide from a local shop. It's a great guide and I still use it when I need to get out of the same old trail rut.
Camping is tough, due to litter/parties/meth labs the BLM has made it difficult to camp for free in the area. There is a small, free campground at the 18 Road trailhead. Lousy camping and trails that are not that great IMHO (though I seem to be in the minority).
Shoot me a PM when you are headed this way and I might be abel to steer you towards some good free camping. I am the local BLM Ranger so I know some spots that don't get advertised....

Shin guards are not a bad idea on this trail. I have more dots and scrapes from cactus than ever!

I knew your bike just balanced itself... and here you were taking all the credit. :D

Haven't done that 50 Year Trail before, but sure looks like a lot of fun. Especially the DH parts.

So jealous of all you guys getting some riding in... When I lived in Vail I rode everyday because there was epic singletrack just outside the garage... Living in L.A. I'd rather just not bother... Here are some pics of me from quite a few years ago...

Makes me want to dust off the Klein and get back in shape. Maybe I'll go get some new tires and tubes this weekend...I think my Uma Gumma's are a touch too dry to ride on.

This is a nice little stretch of BRAND NEW singletrack only a mile from my front door. By "new" I mean it was completed last month. 5 miles a hard pack bliss, which is rare here in the land of rock, sand and decomposed granite.

From Sunday. Same trail. Takes me 8 minutes on my single speed to get to the trail head. Prescott rules! Man...that photo makes me look like a chub. Bummer.

There are some great trails all around us!! I think we're going to get a ride going for Mt Wilson this weekend. I've never done it, but a buddy says it's awesome, around 14 miles of downhill!! Shuttle run of course, you're welcome to join us.
