That's a pretty rude looking map for long distance travels. :smiley_drive: Here's to finding a future opportunity.

Mike, don't you qualify for some sort of Fleet discount? Lol!
Nowhere near as big as what I used to get. I've divested myself of the Tacoma, Astro, Sprinter and Samurai in the past year, and just got a letter from State Farm asking WTH I was doing and if wondering if I understood how much I was adversely affecting their profits. ;)

Damn, now we'll have to bail out the insurance companies.

Here's a shot of the new KK at Point Sublime and his front door view.

Brad, it was nice to meet you finally (never had the chance at the Expo) and enjoyed the tour of your trailer (seeing it at Point Sublime added a extra nice touch!) hope you are not suffering to much when using it.. I'am curious on how bad the winds were on Thursday evening/Friday morning at Point Sublime? Doug.

Hi Doug, I enjoyed meeting you out on the point too. Great spot to meet new friends. It is very tough but am able to stay reasonably comfortable if I fluff my pillows properly. One of the really fun parts of camping with the Karavan is all the remote places I can tow it to with no problem. Folks always freak out when they come across my camps and wonder how the heck I got the Karavan there.

The winds Thursday night and Friday morning were really only bad out on the point. Back at our camp in the trees it was pretty calm. You could hear the winds but they seemed to coming up and over our little nesting area.

Thanks,
Brad

Yeah I was suffering terribly in the tear drop until I fluffed the pillows properly also! :sombrero:

I figured you were fairly well protected in the trees but nice to confirm it. Hope to see you out on the trails in the future. Doug

Doug,

It was funny on my way out on Friday I ran into a guy coming in towing a home built tear drop out of the Phx area. When we stopped to talk we noticed water dripping from his tear drop. Turns out he didn't have his water jug strapped down and it had fallen over and most of his water had leaked out. Since I was heading out I didn't need my water and I had at least 15 gallons left in my tanks. I fired up the water pumps and opened the back of my trailer to hook up the shower hose. I used that to fill up his water supply on the spot. That was a pretty fun trail assist moment and he was very appreciative.

I bet he was! That's not something many people or setups could offer :)

Here are a few snaps Chris took driving into Toroweap behind me. I thought they were pretty cool.

I drove into Toroweap a few days before you, May 27-30. Pulled my 17' trailer in with no issues except dust got in everything. That is some view at the overlook. Spent several hours out there watching the setting sun color the canyon walls. That 3000' sheer drop is mind boggling. Had nightmares of falling for several days after.

When I was there I camped at site 2 for the shade. It was a tight fit but what made it bad was a volunteer ranger fussing at me if I got too close to the crypto soil while manuvering the rig. I wanted to choke her but she was too pretty to harm.

I agree it's a great spot and the views stay with you long after you leave the area. I would love to be there in July-August to see the Monsoon thunderstorms over the canyon.

Someday maybe. :sombrero:

Brad, beautiful photography! You had better light than when I was there as it was cloudless. How was the KK at holding out the dust?
