While it's on the bench in my shop, I lift it up and put it on the roof rack and take it off by myself. When I'm putting it on and off the roof rack when it's on my truck while at my shop, I use my forklift. When I'm out in the wild And I need to take my tire off the rack, I will be throwing it down.

Then just muscle up the flat on to the rack?

So yet another delay, this one due to my old age. I need to put some extra fuel cans up on top so the box has to be moved forward and some mounts have to be made for the Rotopax 2 gallon containers

What do you estimate the finished weight of the rack will be? I assume the expanded metal is steel along with everything else...

The entire rack construction and all attached components are actually all aluminum. I'm clueless on the weight I will have an overall weight to adjust my springs when completed

Interesting...the expanded aluminum seems to be pretty thin for supporting chairs. Looking forward to see your impression when its put to use. I'm planning a roof rack build in the spring, also all aluminum, and am wondering how light I can go and still have something useful in the end.

The rack is completely reinforced for the seating area, it was designed with this purpose in mind. It even has little mini fists to hold the chairs down in case you like to drink 😳

I'd wager the chairs would a fall fairly well. What holds the drinking peoples down? :friday:

I think it looks awesome. The only thing I might be a bit leary of, other than falling revelers, would be the shear weight it looks like might be loaded up there. Not concerned about being top heavy?

Looks great! Get that monster on the roof and across the scales! We can put a stiffer sway bar on the front end if needed but it will be good once the springs are re done.

See you in a few weeks. Bring some NY bakery goodies. Black & Whites, cannoli, you know :)
