You could try to source some stiff cardboard or plastic and ziptie it up to block the opening to test out the theory. Then do test runs up an incline with and without the plate.

I just took a peek under the 80, and I just don't see why the plate would make much of a difference. It's not functioning like the undertray of my other car. Man, sorry for wasting so much bandwidth!

Black Dragon? Did you make it through the entire way? How was it? Thx

Spent the weekend in Moab manning the Tepui Tents display we did at Gearheads on Mainstreet. Was a great day on Saturday and talked with a ton of people include a few from the forum and others. If any of you were ones that came by and said hello, thank you.
Since I wasn't in Moab to do any wheeling this time I made sure I at least took the scenic way to town on the way down on Friday. Was a nice little drive.

Yep. I didn't do that whole trail that day but I've done it before with my trailer coming from the other direction across ************** Flats. It's a fun trail and the scenery is great.

it shouldn't. i never had one on the marshmallow and once i fixed a slightly plugged radiator and a bad fan clutch, i couldn't overheat it if i wanted to.

I'm wondering if the Koyo radiator that's in it isn't cooling as well as a factory radiator. Also, with the new fan clutch I just installed it with the original fluid. I'm thinking to change it out to the 20k silicone and see if moving a bit more air will help. I'm not overly concerned since most of the time the temps are just fine. It's just on long climbs with the motor under load when it will heat up.

Finished up my winch install with the COMEUP Seal 9.5s
Really impressed with the quality of the winch so far. Looking forward to trying it out. Line speed is pretty good. Not the fastest but definitely not slow. The synthetic rope looks like excellent quality, as does the included fairlead.
.
As part of my order I also got a winch dampner and a pair of gloves. Not a big deal but will be nice to have.
.
Since my ARB bumper has been modified (was originally a winch bumper, but the PO cut all the winch brackets off as well as the lower skirt) I needed to add in some way to mount the winch. I like the higher clearance lower part of the bumper and it was pretty simple to solve the mounting. I used a universal winch cradle that I was able to weld across the frame mounting brackets of the bumper.

put some marbles in the holes, wrap it with shoe laces, then chill it in jello, works for me every time...excellent documentation thanks for sharing!

What bearing is that?

Outer wheel bearing. I needed to do a front axle service ever since I bought the truck in December but just finally got around to it. All new bearings, Marlin seals, wipers, drive flanges. Driving a lot nicer now. ;)

I'm still waiting for a full repaint of my peeling hood. In the meantime, I sprayed the center with Plastidip a couple weeks ago. Without a good quality sprayer it's tough to get a good finish with plastidip. I peeled it off and did a little more permanent job with some Rustoleum Satin Black. Looks much better, than the plastidip and the badly peeling clearcoat. Eventually the hood or possible the whole truck will get repainted.

Did you buy a rebuild kit or piece togeather the parts for the front axle? Need to do it to my Dads 80 pretty soon. It's got Birf soup pretty bad.

It's a front end kit from Cruiser Outfitters. But the bearings and drive flanges are not part of the kit.
