Glad to read the light was faulty. Great news!

If it's been more than 4,000 miles since the last rotation, you are probably hearing the edges. That should go away in a while, and return to their normal hum, as long as they don't have an unusual wear pattern. With the 1.5" adapters <wink, wink> (spacers are illegal in some states), the only thing you should notice is more noise when turning tightly in a parking lot, due to the added scrub radius.

Spacers did a nice job of filling up the wheel well. "beer"

I ran spacers for 3 years and many many thousands of miles with no issues. They work great if keeping the stocvk wheels.

So far so good. The road noise from rotating the tires is annoying. I hope it goes away soon. Actually I hope I get some new tires soon

I parked next to a stock Rubicon at work yesterday. I measured and realized that mine is only 1.5" taller up front and 1" taller in the rear despite the 2.5" and 2" spacers. Must be the small amount of mods I have. (Hi-lift, shovel, sliders, skids, dual battery, frontrunner shelf). That explains why the AEV group correction brackets didn't work for me.

Weird, that's not a lot of weight. I wonder do I have freak springs on mine? I load mine up with 2 sets of hockey gear, luggage for the weekend for 4 and 4 adults and if I loose 1/2 inch that's all I do. up front I have some extra weight with light bar, front skid etc.

I might be the idiot here. A rock did push my Evo slid into the crossover exhaust pipe in January. And I don't recall when the grind started. That could be the cause. I'm going to drop the skid and see if the sensation goes away and bend it back.

I get the impression that the dealership business model is a little broken. I wonder if Internet pricing has made the service department the soul Cashcow of the business.

I had this issue, where the Evo crossmember skid bent on the passenger side and would rattle while under a load. It's hitting the exhaust crossmember probably, it's a known problem and fixed with a gusset. Good luck bending it back. Took me awhile using a log as an anvil and an axe. If you heat it up a bit with a heat gun it helps a little.

Yeah I should maybe have that done to mine.

I have airbags in the rear too that I leave inflated to 15lbs. And my rear springs are 59s.

I'm still waiting on a buddy to cut the steel for the gusset. Going on a trip this upcoming weekend and next weekend and reinstalled the skid after beating it back into place. It's a huge PITA to reinstall since it was bent in pretty good. The passenger side frame mount was about 1" off from the frame hole and lower control mount was bent as well. Almost to the point where I need to buy another one because it's so beat up.

Installing the AEV geometry correction brackets on mine worries major pain getting all three control arm holes to line up. I ended up having to drill the skid plate whole much larger

I finally got the AEV 2.5 XT lift in. Got a great deal on a 2000-mile-old kit w/ geo brackets from Andy at The Adventure Portal.

We promptly took it on a fall color scouting trip up to Laurel Lake near Mammoth, CA and Coyota Flats near Bishop. Great colors up there and interesting weather.

We had a good trip. Laurel Lakes was cold. And Coyote flats wasn't quite as bad. But I woke up to snowfall at thunder at 5am. Nothing stuck so we took our time packing up. But in the 20 minutes it took me to roll up all our sleeping gear, 2 inches of snow fell. Not wanting the steep switchbacks to get any more exciting than they had to, we headed out around 9:30 on Sunday. Only saw one other truck. But several deer.

I may have a long trip coming up next weekend. I have a lot to get done on the Jeep this weekend in preparation for a long trip next weekend.

A pile of parts are accumulating in my garage. I need to try to get them installed this weekend:
  • ARB front diff cover
  • Rockhard winch mount for stock bumper
  • 80ft synthetic Fireline for my Warn XD9000i
  • AEV geometry correction brackets
  • 5lb propane tank and roll bar mount
  • Springtail Solutions tailgate table
  • Tuffy 058 drawer

All of these I got a great deal on locally or by calling the seller and working a deal. I've given up on my tailgate table build and am using it on my deck instead. And I figured I'll spare myself the frustration of building another drawer system and buy the Tuffy TJ drawer which is the exact dimensions that I want. 36" x 30" x 8" It should fit perfectly from across the tailgate opening with the subwoofer in place, and extend to the rear seats, while leaving 14-15" between the top of the drawer and the shelf. Perfect for action packers, creating 5 levels of storage:
  • cubby for tools accessible by removing the drawer
  • Dust proof Drawer for cooking gear and food
  • Action packers for recovery gear and bags
  • Frontrunner shelf for chairs, water, air compressor, campfire in a can
  • And the following mount to the rollbar: 5lb Propane, ax, shovel, hi lift, fire extinguisher, oztent, and shotgun.

Great pictures!
Looked like a fun trip.
Definitely looking forward to checking out all the new stuff, and how you pack thing in.

I like to camp in a new place each night. We realized that we were spending more time packing and unpacking than I would like. So most of these additions are intended to streamline that process. Keeping all the kitchen and food stuff in a drawer should save time, pulling out the food bin and kitchen supplies. Also our REI Pack N Prep is wasting a lot of space.

The other things on the to buy list are 20" sleeping pads and the Nemo Tango Duo, so we're only unpacking a single bag and 2 pads instead of 2 pads, 2 sleeping bags and 2 liners and zipping everything together. Also our giant synthetic sleeping bags are taking up a ton of space.

Great ideas.
I've been re-thinking that whole process as well. Thinking of the Jeep like a backpack, instead of a camping trailer.
Low weight, comfortable gear, easy and quick to use.
