Build a one off tent for trailer?

Does anyone know a canvas company that does one off's? Price will be high I know, but anything fitting my needs to my M416 is in Oz, and well....(********** that horse one more time for good measure). I can fab a frame, no issue, I know nothing about sewing up canvas to keep the wild out. Hell sewing buttons are an issue for me.

I would suggest a boat cover or sailmaker. You've got plenty all the way up the peninsula & the east bay.

I've talked to a few over the phone in the south bay. I must not be traveling north for enough, as all I got were straight out no's. It's seems that anything out of the box is silly speak for a lot of craftsman type companies.
I guess I can't blame them, as the money is not in one offs. Thanks elcoyote, I'll push a few more buttons on the phone to see if I get a bite.

Id come up with a sketch or drawing and talk to them in person.
Bring in pictures of manufacturerd RTTs and talk to them.
Its more legwork but easier for the guy to say no over the phone.
Besides, your the only one that knows exactly what you want.

Are you looking for a trailer tent?

Something like the attached pictures?

When I took the TrailBlazer to a local marine canvas guy to talk about a soft cover for the collapsed tent we got to talking about tent trailers. He flat out wanted nothing to do with them. He was OK with the cover, but did not have any interest in working on the tent itself.

He told me that they are a nightmare for him to work on. The material used is much lighter than what he uses, so there is no good match. A repair panel is out of the question as his material stretches differently than does the normal tent material, and the rest of the tent has already stretched, where any panel he makes will not have. It's a losing battle for them to try to do anything.

I am guessing that this is why you're getting turned down. Might be easier to see if there is an industrial sewing business somewhere and try them.

That is in the neighbor hood of what I'm looking for, but with a much lower deck height and I a little more room in the bottom area. A couple of Aussie companies make something close, or maybe right on, it's getting it here that seems to be.... well other worldly.

PS I might even be able to compromise on deck height, what do they put on those Conquerors, and how High up do they need to be. I'll have to haul my neurotic border collie mix up some ladder, the shorter the better.

The Conqueror has an attached tent that uses the trailer's box itself as the starting platform; a segment half the size of the box-top folds over with a ladder to form the rest of the bed. The tent deploys over that affair and has a foyer of sorts out in front, complete with two large screened doors, floor, access to the trailer via zip screen, and another screened wall.
I'm able to lift my Wonder Mutt (45 lbs) up to the bed without any problem but she is skittish to come down.

Well that pretty much nixes the Idea of just a tent from them. I have a trailer that I like, and no interest in having two trailers that I like for economic and space reasons.

Teddy bear's in at a svelte 50lbs so lifting is not too bad. Rom is in at 105lbs, but I lucked out in that he's happier sleeping in his kennel.

Thanks for the info though Hilldweller.
