I have totally slacked off the updates as of late, however in the meantime I've put 4000 miles on it going to the Overland Expo as well as Cruise Moab.
Since the last post here again is the list of now completed items...
Floor mats
Seat covers
Hooking up rack lights
All Toyota switches and locker control
Interior fuse box & 12v plugs
Under hood relays and fuses
Odessy 1700 battery
ARB compressor
Step sliders
Skid plate
Rear roller drawers
One thing for sure I miss the power of my old truck, thought I could handle it but going 45 mph over the continental divide stinks!!! So I am starting to put together the motor plans... Complete rebuild of the top end and a new short block from Toyota. To bore or not to bore, probably not but I will try to find a super charger.

Ok, been way to long for a little up date...
I've been doing more using the truck than working on it, which is good!!! But it's winter and I've got the bug to continue setting the truck up for what I use it for.
As mentioned in a previous post most of the "must" items as far as I'm concerned have been completed and tested this past summer. So I am preparing for next year.
I've always liked roof top tents and have spent many nights in them, but I just can't commit to having one on the roof rack. My old RTT was mounted on a custom rack on my old m416 trailer, and that was the best set up I've had so far. But, a lapse in judgment lead me to sell it for a Kimberley Kamper which was great but ended up not suiting my needs. So, no RTT, no trailer I decided to use the truck to sleep in and needed a platform to go along with my roller drawers.
I attached pictures are the start of the platform. It's made up of 1 3/4" tube and 3/4" plywood which will be bolted to the backside of the drawers. I also made it so I can change out the plywood for different configurations like setting the fridge inside and on the floor of the truck or remove the plywood and set Pelican cases inside for storage as well as the base of the platform. I haven't got all the details worked out, so it 'll progress as I build.

Darryl, one of the greatest tools Mike Hiscox ever installed in our 80 when he owned it for the short time was the AO bed extensions. Man are they're great for when weather gets rough, i snore too much for Yosh or when i run a solo trip. Plus it makes a great dog house for when i get in trouble
Anyhow, the 80's have plenty of room, interior door latch/lock and even sliding windows where you can buy screens for summer weather. The other thing i like is that you gain a storage area under the 'deck". We actually have the front runner tank under ours and still have room for storage.
