Camp Shower?

Corey - I remember your list review some months back and just now watched the video. We ExPo'ers owe you and folks like you a lot for taking the time to document, video, and share your mods. After seeing the pressure and the pattern, I would be hard pressed to imagine something much better for the price. Many thanks!

Thank you very much.
I enjoy documenting the camping gear I buy and use.
Probably comes from years of documenting the mods to my old '91 4Runner and now my FJ.

As you can see in the video I shot Sunday with the new kitchen faucet sprayer on the hose now, it has very good pressure and shoots quite far.

I have not experience with the other Zodi shower that uses the pump/battery, but the one like I have that you pump up works very well.

It takes up no more room in the rig than a medium tent stuff sack.

Yeah, just to reiterate, I think most of us that were giving the Zodi props were talking about hotman extreme, bug sprayer version. I have no experience with the other models. The extreme is super simple, and works like a champ.

Kurt, point taken. I guess my experience wasnt as good as some. I had a brass t-fitting split on the heat exchanger system where it connected to the cooling system. I lost most of the coolant before I could fix it. I got lucky and McGyvered a deep well socket in the hose in place of the "T", and clamped it to remove the shower from the system until I got home.

I caught the Zodi on sale at Costco for about 100 bucks, and havent looked back since.

Kinda a po' man's setup...lol. Had this brainstorm after seeing Corey's Zodi in action. Just re-fitted the hose end with some addttional couplers and then added the extended hose. The handle has to be held in the "squeezed" position..to use the kitchen spray as an "on demand" device (I just velcroed it tight together)

Now the plan is to unscrew the head, fill it with water(about 2/3's, leaving some headroom for air), warm it on the stove, screw the business end back on and fill it with about 40-50 lbs. of air. Now the cannister says on it it's rated for for a 125 lbs. so I felt pretty good about putting 40lbs. in it.

Once the waters warmed and the head unit tightend..fill it with air and hit the sprayer...hot shower for about one full minute of spray time..plenty of time to get wet, soap up and rinse

You guys are way over thinking (and overpaying) this- or I'm just cheap (I am). ;) I use two different systems depending on the time of the year- solar shower when it's hot enough to warm it up or one of the Coleman battery powered showers ($28) when it's cooler or I'm going to need more than one shower.

Heat your water, dump it in a bucket, drop the pump in the bucket and take a shower. The foot switch makes it easy to switch it on to get wet then switch it off to lather then switch it back on to rinse. They have decent pressure and the handle has an adjustable flow. They will also screw onto the Coleman 5gal water container which heats up nicely if it's left out in the sun.

My brother uses a metal pump sprayer from Lowe's with the wand cut down to be more convenient. He either puts hot water in it or more often just sets it on top of his Coleman stove and warms the whole thing up. Simple and effective without having to crank your vehicle or lug around extra gear. With a little practice you can get clean with around 1/2 gal of water. :)

I've used a Reliance 5 gal jug a piece of tygon tubing, a sunshower shower head and a couple fitting for a couple years now. I boil a gallon of water and add it to the jug, put it on the roof of the rig, and shower away. It's not easy getting it on the roof, but worth it.
I also have a small pump I salvaged from a camper I was discarding. In the future I'll probably rig it up so I can do less lifting.
