I'm thinking of trying to replace the rear door on my SUV with a custom Door. Something with alot of glass like a Utility door on a Truck topper. Maybe like a SAR or Ambulance vehicle. I was considering a camper door. Anyone have a list of Door manufacturers? Has anyone done something like this?

What sort of vehicle do you have?
Does it have a 2-piece tailgate and rear window now or a one piece door?
Maybe you could find factory another door ste up with hinges and latches and modify it as you want?

Hinge options
I'm thinking now it would be easier to modify my door to open sideways. I was considering retrofitting hinges off of a vehicle that was designed to swing the door.
I've thought of several vehicles Isuzu Trooper, Disco( I think) anyone think of others? Suburban or tahoe doors- but since they are double doors I think it would be to much weight. I was also thinking If people do suicide doors and Lambo doors there probably is something custom that would work. Like thishttp://www.streetdreamsbyross.com/hinges_street_rod.php
Maybe I should look at some tuner or hotrod sites for some ideas.
