Is that cabin an actual campsite? Or just something you can boondock at?

It's a cabin maintained by those that visit. It is a first come, first serve basis. You should always leave a gift. When we left, we left a case of water and several Coleman fuel tanks.

It is near here: 37.352659,-117.373343

That being said, you'd be best to stop by the saloon in Gold Point and let the town "Sheriff" know you're headed to the cabin, and look at the map in the saloon.

Imnosaint, nice view.

Based on the angle of Gunsight butte and Navajo mountain it looks like your just North a tad from Alstrom point. It's hard to beat the views from any of the overlooks in that area both over the lake during the day and the amazing night skies.

Hundy! Good to see you on here again. We met awhile back on an MJR run or two, including base camp at the Rubicon, where I met your wife.

Hi Guys! Thanks for the welcomes! I havent been posting much anywhere lately, mostly because we have been on vacations going every which way! Heading to the Rubicon next month.
