Captain Texas Anvil JKU build

My friend runs a teraflex with 37's. holds up fine. ACE Engineering has come out with one as well, $549. Has spots to mount gear on it as well. Might be worth investigating. Has two rotopax mounts included.

Well just found out that I way over estimated for the tires, and I can totally afford the AEV carrier. :sombrero:

Im not ordering it right away however, still going to do a bit more research, but I am very very happy right now.

Nice Rack

Great news on the tires! :victory:

Are you going to do a Roof rack?
The reason I ask is, with room being a premium for the JK, something like the LoD rear bumper with rack over the spare, provides a lot of needed space. Especially if you don't want to do a full on Safari style rack.

They also have a linked version, and it can be setup for Rotopaks.

Every time I head out for a trip there is something in that rack (usually firewood).
Just something to consider.

After having a roof rack on my 4Runner and NEVER using it, and with crazy wind noise and decreased MPG, id rather not. I think getting something like a Gobi roof rack would a bit of a waste of funds because I would never use it.

Also I don't camp as much as I should, but I would probably have firewood in my Trasharoo if I really needed to.

I think it's one of things you will buy if you feel you really need it so it's not a mod to rush, especially with Gobi's base $1600 price tag. I needed it because my cargo room is a joke and have a kayak, that being said you have an actually useful backseat and rear cargo area:). If you ever needed extra room, you could always buy a $100 hitch basket that is easily removable and doesn't sacrifice aerodynamics/MPGs

I went with the teraflex nebo, NO wind resistance or massive rack, but can still handle all the weight I would ever put up there. Low profile nice look!

It would be good to check out the rhino rack backbone system, it's the best looking and best designed rack imho. Your build is great !

Haha thanks for the suggestions guys but seriously, I really don't want or need a roof rack. I for one wish I had a use for it and two wish I could afford it.

The tire carrier and tires are cutting close but doable! :sombrero:

Thanks for the compliment man, really appreciated.

actually capt'n The nebo is only 499....you don't need to use the slats, you can get something like the lower cost sport rack bars and rack, or case etc for when you need it....And then it's only two rails on your roof with no wind resistance. Its like a factory installed roof rack on the patriot. thats why i am using it, becuase I can swap accessories between all my rigs then!

Parts deposit!

Alright Alright Alright!

Talked to Jones Jeep for about a week and I have pulled the trigger on the AEV tire carrier. In total, I am getting the carrier, 3rd brake light, water pump system re-plumbed, and the front crush cans replaced.

Currently looking at October 1stish for the Jeep to go to the shop, hopefully around the same time tires and wheels will be done.

Looking at my bank account, I really understand the acronym J.E.E.P.
