Have you considered MTRs?

We've seen several KO2 side walls fail, seems to be their weak point.

Great looking Jeep, like the color!

I like MTRs a lot but I don't think that I would get a lot of use out of them considering they are a mud terrain and I use my JK for DD purposes.

Thanks! I love Anvil, one of my favorite colors ever. Close tie is Laguna Seca Blue from BMW.

My mistake, I thought the KO2 was their MT.

That's a great tire.

For what it's worth I bought the MTRs for rocks, hate mud lol

Haha don't worry about it. Although I have heard that BFG is going to announce the new KM3s soon. Really want to see what they are bringing to the table.

Agreed on mud. Its fun for 5 seconds, after that I hate having mud fall into my eyes each time I work on my Jeep.

Some photos of the KM3s have already been released. The pattern looks nearly identical to the KM2s, maybe a little tighter spaced lugs, but added the same sidewall design and biters as the KO2s.

I'm a big all terrain tire fan as I hate mud and see no reason to run a mud terrain but BFG offers one of the few mud terrains I would ever consider. Not sure how much different the KM2s are or the future KM3s, but the current KM takeoffs I'm running have impressed me as far as being very well mannered on the highway. Only complaint would be their handling on wet roads, but fairly normal with most mud terrain tires. Something I've learned about most trails, there's really no way to avoid mud of some sort even in Colorado at 9,000 feet, something to think about especially when building around an overland platform.

I'm a pro BFG guy, but have you looked at Cooper's ST Pros, extremely aggressive tread but apparently well mannered. Kind of like a hybrid mud terrain tire, that as far as I know, can go through just about anything you throw at it.

So while everyone is being cool and at the Overland Expo West, I am still in Texas just Jeepin... yea.

Went out to Hidden Falls today solo and finally got to put the AEV lift through its paces. I got a pretty good amount of flex out of the front axle for still having the sway bars connected. I think this has prompted me to go ahead and get some JKS quicker disconnects. They are only 170ish bucks and having more articulation can sometimes be the deciding factor on the trail.

I also aired down for the first time and I have to say what an improvement. I was at 35PSI and lowed it to about 26-27PSI. Rode a lot better on the trail and I was able to get out of a mud hole that caught my back tire and moved my Jeep from going forward to sliding in a 45 degree angle. Oh don't we all love mud.

Here are the photos I got with my DSLR. Of course the weatherman lied and instead of pouring rain, we got hot as hell. :ylsmoke:

We are just getting over spring thaw. Thank god everything is coming along. We do trips every weekend and most every weekday evening. I can leave my house and in 10 min be in the backcountry. It's truly awesome place to live.

Man you are incredibly lucky! Here in Texas everything is private land so I have to drive at least an hour to get to my ranch or the nearest off road park.

There is no private land really. Anything you see outside town limits is pretty well open and free. I literally leave my house, drive 5 mins and I am in 1000kms of back country trails that lead me all over the island. Its awesome.

Later today I believe I will be picking up a used Soft Top for my Jeep. Whole kit, in really good shape, and for a bargain too.

Will update when I pick it up.
