Carbon Fiber hood? (For weight not bling)

I make fibreglass panels for race cars and save a lot of weight in the process. I don't use any steel for gusseting. But anyway...

I want to see someone make a snap-on vinyl hood, like a tonneau cover for the front. Maybe with some aluminum tent poles to give it some shape.

That would truly be light weight.

But your race hoods are likely much larger than a Tacoma hood. You also probably use 4 hood pins, right? Could a non-reinforced fiberglass hood work long term with the OEM hinges and locking latch? On a vehicle that sees washboard/corrugated roads?
