Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

After debating which fridge to get over the past few months, I finally decided on the ARB. I am so happy I did, this thing is awesome!
I just felt a little uneasy after reading quite a few issues with the Edgestar and having a fridge fail while camping or on the trails would be very inconvenient.

Still running great. Haven't turned it off since September 14 have it set at 36 degrees and only drive 1 1/2 miles a day during the week battery hasent run down yet.

It's worth more than a shot.
It's a great fridge and a bargin to boot. Mine is cold, quiet and never misses a beat 12v or 120v

Yea, I want to wait for a few more reviewers before making a move. I really like getting stuff that I can count on like an Engel but it seems there are a few minor glitches here and there. Let's hear some more field reports after some abuse in the car on trips!

I started this thread nine months ago so it really adds up to "You get what you pay for". The Edgestar is hundreds of dollars cheaper than an Engel and hundreds of dollars more expensive than a simple solid state cooling box. You cannot beat the Edgestar for the price, warts and all. In the meantime prices on all fridge brands are ramping steeply upwards.

I've gotten my 439.00 worth out of my edgestar fridge..Been plugged in for about 5 months now in the garage along with a 5 day wheeling trip and has performed flawlessly. I even bring it out of the garage during parties and use it for the "refreshment" fridge..So far no one can tell the difference between a beer chilled with an Edgestar fridge vs. an Engel or ARB fridge....so I'm happy.

It arrived today. There is a little dent in the bottom center corner. That must be why it had been returned. Purely cosmetic, nothing that will affect the operation.
For $286 to my door, I can live with it :victory:
