I absolutely love Bavaria, but I doubt I would want to go there in the summer.
My feeling is that going in the winter was a very good move. Hardly anyone spoke anything but German to us and there was definitely not much cheesy tourist stuff. We were never really assumed to even be American, English a few times is about it.

Dachau was powerful, but our Munich hosts (friends of my wife's family) were a little depressed that we wanted to see it. So they made a point of taking us into the village of Dachau to see the shops and have something to eat. Neat little town that is fighting the stigma of the concentration camp.

Gald you guys made the trip. Thanks for the photos and trip report.

I wish you could have spent more time in Vienna, or in Austria in general.

No time for Halzstadt, eh?

No our plans changed a lot due to weather and other situations.

Vienna kind of frustrated me. It was just too busy and crowded for us for this kind of trip. Jenn seemed put off by the over industrialization of the outer rims of Vienna and Innsbruck. Everything just seemed much more crowded this trip then my last trip at the same time of year.

I wish we could have gotten to Halzstadt, but the rain really screwed things up.

The trip had its ups and downs, but it was still a great Honeymoon that cost us next to nothing.

Phil, Jenn - I want your life. I must add that your wedding shots were an enormous hit with the gals at the office.

I'm doing a little baseball adventure this summer from Cooperstown to Wrigley to Camden Yards to Fenway to the new Yankee Stadium. We must hook up so I can buy you two a beer.

Thanks man! Glad they were a hit:)

Since you will be passing through CT we could meet up at a very nice pub in Mystic if your interested. Just let us know when your trip gets closer.

Excellent! I know Mystic well. I lived 12 years of my life in Old Saybrook actually.

Tentative plans are July 1 - Cooperstown; July 3 - Blue Jays at Yankees; July 5 - Mariners at Red Sox; July 8 - Braves at Cubs. Not sure yet if/where Baltimore can be fit in. As summer approaches I'll update.

Good luck with the job search also.
