Yep. I think as far as visibility goes, the '99 Tahoe I had was the best that I owned. (Or maybe the two reg cab s/box Sierra's.) It's the closest thing I can imagine to sitting in an AMC Pacer. That thing was all window.

That reminds me, my mom had a Gremlin I am told. Think she had that when I was a baby until toddler age, then it was rear-ended.

Found out we get discounts on Fords... so I test drove a '19 F350 on Friday. They offered me a pretty good deal on my 16... But they couldn't find what I wanted (F350 CCLB Diesel Platinum w/o moonroof)… The one they found that was close was a Limited Dually... I laughed at the list price.
Really liked the new cab... and the 935LB of torque.... but I didn't buy anything. Even my wife was a bit surprised. lol

Ironically, the dealer had 3 modified F250's... lift, cosmetics... each over $100K. Sales guy told me they'd be sold w/in a couple of weeks.

My feelings exactly. I always feel like I'm sitting on the floor in a Tacoma/4Runner.
I owned a 2000 Trooper for a whopping 6K until a guy rear-ended me at 45 mph. $13K in damage in a second including frame damage. It took 3.5 months to secure all the body components and put it back together. AAA provided a Camry at a cost of $4500. The vehicle was never the same. They ate it and so did I.

Had a chat with the welder at work, and when you really get down to it... What's really out there on the market? What vehicle intrigues you enough to spend far more money than they should be worth, and want to keep them for years to come?
Sister in laws boyfriend just ditched his '08 Chev 2500 HD for a '19. Between their Yukon XL, and the new 2500 they have 200k in vehicles in the driveway... I think they're 'worth' more than the house they live in.
The thing that gets me the most, is he traded the '08 in because he couldn't get it started the other morning. (It was around -35° here, and he didn't plug it in) He just said it was getting old and not worth keeping around if it wouldn't start. Like seriously dude? Nothing starts happily in that weather, let alone a diesel, that hasn't been plugged in.

None of them really, nothing out there really excites me, plus they are all going to loose money.
I could see spending money on a classic, something that puts a smile on your face every time you get in it. Heck might even make a little money if you decide to sell it.
Have a buddy like that, he says when the tires are worn out, time to trade it in. He is one of those guys who is never satisfied, constantly buying and selling stuff. But that is what keeps our economy rolling...people get bored easily.

It varies a bit, but about 30% of trade in vehicles are underwater on their loans (negative equity). Plus there are about 7 million Americans who are 90 days or more behind on their car payments. I like pretty new things, but not enough to burn $15k in equity on a crap trade in! Those trucks are nice, but for that price I can get a lightly used cab-over with flat bed for legit hauling, and a sports car for the track. Or a nice classic? Maybe a well equipped jeep or small 4x4?
5-6 year old rigs with good options and 100-150k miles are cheap, and you can get another 100k with minimal maintenance. Thats like 100$ per 1000 miles? Pretty reasonable to me.
