Coastiehawk Adventures and '05 Tundra build

Picked up this Tundra back in January of 2015 with just shy of 80000 miles! Not my daily driver thankfully so I've only put about 40000 miles on her. Eventual full overland build so I can travel full time after retiring from the military. Very slow in getting to where I am now, but slowly getting her built to where I want her!

Running 285 75 R16 Goodyear MTR's, great tire, but a pain to keep in balance.
Just swapped the crappy Toytec's I originally installed with Fox 2.5 non-resi coil overs. Huge difference in the ride!
Running an SPC upper control arm and have pretty much done a full front suspension refresh.
Running the original Archive garage Deaver Overland springs in the rear, thinking about doing a shackle flip kit as well.
BFF front bumper with a Smittybuilt Winch. Saving up for a rear high clearance next!

I'll see how long the cheapo switch assembly holds up, I've heard of some guys having really good luck with them.

So I decided to sell the rooftop tent and start sleeping in back of the truck. Picked up the 23 Zero Peregrine 180R Awning with the wall kit. First trip out and so far I really like the setup. Super easy to setup, had some moderate winds kick up in the afternoon with no issues and the LST (light suppression technology) fabric is outstanding at blocking out the sun and keeping things nice and cool underneath!

That's a pretty sweet setup. I personally never went the RTT route. Partly because I don't have the time to do overnighter's very often, and partly because I didn't want to added weight or complexity. Whenever I do overnight in the truck I just sleep in the open bed. I'm 6'0" and still have several inches on either end. If it's especially cold I just double sleeping bag it and I'm fine. I've slept very comfortably in sub 10 degree weather in the open bed. Of course my outer sleeping bag is covered in ice in the morning, but it's not that bad.
