Colorado to Mexico's Copper Canyon

Drove my stock 2015 Tacoma from Colorado to El Paso, TX, and the next day I crossed the border and drove to the Copper Canyon near Creel, Chihuahua, Mexico, and stayed a couple days. Incredibly remote and quiet place at night. My Garmin GPS supposedly covers Mexico, but neither my hotel nor the town was on my Garmin, so I relied on Google Maps, which worked fine.

Except for some narrow roads towards the end of the journey, I never felt unsafe.

This was a warmup trip for a bigger trip I have planned. I am 61 and retired.

I'd love to post some photos, but apparently they're too large. So here is a link to a gallery:

Wife and I are 61 and retired, plan a 5-6 month trip in Baja this fall, probably head over to the mainland on the ferry at some point. We’ll revisit Mazatlan, head down the coast to hit up the small villages of the Nayarit Riviera. Looking forward to it! If in the area let me know.
