What are the lug nuts you are running on your steelies? I hate chorme acorn style lugs, they do not last at all. Yours look much better. Plus, with the open style you can put a little mark on each lug and keep and eye on the nuts to see if they have moved. The red TR badge is a nice touch too!

265/75/r16 or 255/85r16 It's killing me!!!

I'm about to bite the bullet on tires, I have a 11' Frontier Pro4x CC 6 speed 3.69 gears. I've done the online gear calculator and going to the 255 drops me to 3.54(the factory 31.6" tire to 32.8") Since the 265 Cooper runs large 32.01" there is a very slight gearing loss as well. I have a OME lift and since the Cooper 255 runs slightly small for a 33" tire, clearance should not be an issue. My trucks heavy 1,100lb over factory. What would you do!?!

Not really. I did ask "with weight on it", so that there would be some deflection. I am not going to ask someone to load up their truck to an exact weight to match mine. I just asked for a measurement as it sits now. Yeah, pressure would matter, so Brian, what is the tire height now, as your truck sits, and what PSI are you running? Thanks

Interesting...in another thread the Discount Tire rep said they cannot order that size for the Maxx. Glad to hear differently.

In April 2014, When I purchased my ST/Maxx LT265/75R16 tires, my local Discount/America's Tire store manager priced the LT255/85R16 size for me. Neither size was in stock; both sizes could be ordered and delivered within a week. I'm wondering whether the Discount Tire salesperson referenced in that other thread was simply too lazy to order them or was trying to push something in stock that paid a spiff.

We installed a set of 255/85 R16 ST MAXX on our BJ74 Land Cruiser. It seems like a perfect compromise for a wide range of terrain, and on a vehicle that is already trail-biased. They were more quite then expected and the rock traction is good so far. Snow performance was excellent.

Unfortuantely the truck is in my garage and I'm working in Louisiana until May 6. I'll try to remember to report back here when I get home and get a measurement for you. Right now they're at 35psi. Left the shop at 40 which felt very harsh, dropped to 32 but the tires seemed to wander a little bit on the highway (probably just feeling the tall/skinny profile). The sidewalls are much more rigid than km2s.
