Did travel to 68 Country`s so far.

Overall I think these comparisons arent helpful at all. There are severall Countrys who are that big, that a visit of 8 Weeks just let you see a small bit out of it - because they are just very large.

If we look at China, US, Russia or Australia - there countrys would need more time as two months for just get a small idea about landscape and local culture.

Days we are travelling would give us much more an idea about each other. To be honest, many of use wouldnt be able to list their travelling days, specially if they are older...

I’m confident we have members here who have been to many countries.

Shall we use the ISO-3166 list to define what’s a “country”. One example is that England and Wales and Scotland and Northern Ireland are really one country — they are the United Kingdom (technically the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), and Ireland (the Republic of Ireland) is a different country than the UK.

Together, they are one state, which is sovereign - the United Kingdom. The state is comprised the island of Great Britain of 3 nations (very different people, very different sense of nationhood, and very different opinions about the merits of union), and then Northern Ireland is obviously a fragment, from a divided nation. (let us not get into the added complexities of Crown Dependencies, and the dependencies of said dependencies + Overseas Territories It is clearly a complicated topic and however you slice this up, someone is always going to be annoyed

ISO is quite a logical list, but certainly not without a few problems and flaws (but there is no perfect list of countries).....

227/246 per this list. Visited in RED. Clearly, though, it is not a perfect list in terms of a complete breakdown of the world, it has numerous flaws and what I see as imperfections. The most obvious being the listings for both the Holy See and the Vatican City State - separate "entities", but geographically speaking (which I assume we are here), the same.

Hmm - so for amusement I had a think about this and found the following:

China - I've been to PRC around a dozen times, usually for a week at a time, I've been to RoC once, for a fortnight, and I've been to HK at least 20 times, usually for only a day or two at a time.
US (I assume this means the USA not the USM) - I've lived in the USA twice, and visited more times than I care to try and guess.
Russia - I've been to Russia four times, for periods ranging from a month to a week.
Australia - I've been there four times, the last for 11 months.

Also building on the notes of other posters, countries where I have lived (in the sense of being legally resident) include - Botswana, Canada, Colombia, Congo, Germany, Singapore, Trinidad, UK, USA, Venezuela.

re being able to list my travelling days, I have maintained a diary for the last 50+ years and, with time to check, could document accurately days spent everywhere.
