Cowboy,

Talk to me about the tow rig. Any mods to it? And how well does it tow the trailer? I'm looking at swapping to a FJ from a Rubicon for space reasons and want to make sure that I'm going to a rig with enough oomph to tow my trailer well. Any help is appreciated. Nice trailer by the way. They can be awful addicting...

I made/installed a little night table/shelf for the corner of the trailer. At night I usually put my glasses and watch in the corner and inevitably they end up down in the dark abyss. Now they will stay within reach.

@ 03rubicon.... I really like the FJ... I had a Jeep XJ that I built up and it was getting way high on the mileage side and when the FJ's came out I figured I would give it a try. I have Nothing against any other vehicles... I've had them all (about 40 or so) It has the V6 and they have plenty of oommph, they come in manual or auto I have the auto. I bought it new in 2007 and have 51K miles and have never had a problem with it (knock on wood) It tow's fine I've towed this trailer at 80mph and both behave outstanding on the road. I made both bumpers, light bar, kayak rack and so on myself, I have a fab business so I do all the work myself. If you have a FB page The build is there for the FJ, the trailer and other things I do..... it's called "Overland XT"

Cool. Thanks for getting back to me. The wife has a 2010 4 runner which is very similar. Just wanted to make sure it'll do what I Need. I rarely drive hers although I'd love too. She's just to obsessed with it to let me drive. I just need to sell my Rubi, then it's off to fine a TT.

The weight is all down low... I've had this thing whipping around corners on the street and over big rocks on the trail. I would have to do something totally drastic and stupid in order to flip this. It has a slightly wider foot print than my FJ.

Phase one is done on the kitchen.

The next phase will be adding a sink and moving the propane to the outside. The under trailer water tank will have to wait a bit as they are a bit pricey.

All packed up and ready to go..... for now... :)

I got the canvas totes at costco last year and like typical costco style when there gone there gone. I havent seen them there since, three totes small med. and large for $20.00. I called the company who makes them and they wont sell to private party and they wont even tell me where I can get more. Seems they struck a deal with costco only..... they were really being butt heads on the phone. If they come back to costco I will post it up.
