My brother has a new RAV4 and just not for me, he paid $5000 over msrp a year ago and local dealers are jacked up on prices as well. Domestic in this class just does not do it for me other than a Bronco and wife says no. Actually about an hour ago we decided we needed a turbo . I have been driving the cx5 rental for almost 2 weeks now and really like it and even be a beat rental with fairly high miles does not have a rattle and is really nice riding. We went back to retest the cx5 turbo and cx50 turbo and ended up voting for the CX5 turbo. it just accelerates so nice. I really liked the CX50 looks but the leather seats have a 1" strip of leather sewn right down the middle that presses right on the crack of your ******. Not sure who designed the seats but I am guessing they wear a thong to work.No interest in a Rav4? We looked at a Limited model last year and I thought it was pretty nice.
What about domestic stuff like a Buick Envision or Encore, Ford Edge, Chevy Blazer?
picked it up yesterday. only put 7 miles on it as it was in the middle of a blinding snow storm. I was hoping I was going to make it home it was so bad.
I have to say I am liking driving it. I have been playing chauffeur to my wife while she is healing up and fun car to drive. One thing I have found is there is not aftermarket goodies compared to any of my rigs lol. I figured Mazda being a small company that seems to cater to pseudo enthusiasts would have some good aftermarket niche stuff. so far not much. have you found anything?Congrats! Looks like a twin of ours! ?

the rhodium white is a new color for 2023 I guess. no paint pen for it yet that I can find. I really like the HUD but wish the info center was touch screen. I can't wait to get a few miles on it and fill it with premium. I am already scoping out new tires...I haven't really looked to be honest, its primarily our Daughter's daily and our back-up daily. Not really sure what, if anything, I'd want to do to it. It is pretty well equipped. My only real beef with it is the FWD driving dynamics, like most all CUV's, it is FWD biased and the rears kick in when needed. I like RWD dynamics better, but good luck finding that in this class..
The Pear White is really pretty at night under the lights..
Here is one modified for Overlanding (its not bad)...
(this is an interesting site if you like to see 'different' kind of builds)

The Miatas look like they'd be a blast to drive!one month in and 1100 miles and really liking this mazda. last 3 fill ups hand figured are 29, 28, and 29. the computer on the first two was showing around 25-26 mpg and the last fill up the computer was showing a tick under 29 so pretty accurate. I have been exercising the turbo and filled up with premium yesterday so see if I can feel a difference, it was 50 cent a gallon more so about $7 extra I figure that is one latte that I skipped lol. Kind of has me thinking of selling my PW and buying a Miata...I am about half serious.

oh yes..you can feel the extra 30 hp and 10ft/tq up over 4000 rpms. pretty sure I will only be running premium all summer long. Probably won't in the winter when the roads are crappy but for sure when roads are dry I will. I have been driving my wife to work because she still can't drive and I have a vacant stretch of road basically 10 miles that i can let it rip so I have a pretty good feel as I been doing fast accelerations every day after I drop her off and on the way to pick her up and today I could definitely feel a difference. not sure what it would translate 0-60 or 40-90 but seat of the pants tells me it gets there quicker. I had run the previous tank all the way down so it would not be too diluted.Or a Subaru BRZ/Toyota GR-86 if you want a hard top and slightly more practicality. Both an absolute blast to drive, though the Miata does do better on fuel..
p.s. - curious if you think running premium fuel in the CX-5 is worth it..
