I installed a Thuletrack and rack this week. was a real pain in the butt to get those flare nuts seated right. the way this system is suppose to work is just drill some holes in your roof and set the flare nuts and attach rack. well 3 of the flare nuts did not set and just kept spinning. so I got up there with my welder and tack welded them on. worked like a champ. just realy low setting and small tacks. the real reason I got the rack was for the wind fairing whenI have my camper on. I have not had a chance to use it with the camper yet but I am hoping it helps a little with MPG if not just noise. anyway, here is a couple pics of the latest mod.

I don't know how I missed this post man. I'm FROM SW Portland, but I'm currently living in Tigard real close in. There are SO many folks from OR here now I feel we really owe it to ourselves to get out and do some group trips when the weather and trails get better. I really want to do the Naches Trail up in Washington. Looks awesome to me, but I usualy just go up to the Bride of the gods area of the Gorge there are some great trails up there and I haven't even come CLOSE to exploring all of it yet... LET'S GO get our rigs dirty, I'm always down. Just gotta repair my Exhaust manifold. My 4Runner sounds like a real bush truck right now... No loss of power, just sounds like GARBAGE HAHAHAHAHA

SWEET!!!! I'm n school AND working @ my Dad's Tax office so I NEED to get out and go play. SO cool to see more Portland and OR guy's around. Corax (he's a great toyota guy with a REALLY neat 1st Gen like mine - only BETTER ) is down in Eugene now. I'm trying REALLY hard to find some good trail in between but don't really know of anything but out in Central OR so maybe one of these days we can all get together. David S do you know the trails up by HWY 14 on the washington side by Bridge of the Gods??? If not I've got some FUN places to show you and it's all TOTOALY open with MILES of trails to explore and ALOT of valley's I've never even been into.

I dont think I have been up on that side. last time I went that direction I crossed the Columbia at Hood River then north to cut up around Mt St Helens and Rainer. amazing coutnry with tons of trails there. I would be down to check out some trails anywhere, time permitting! I lived down in Eugene for 2 years for work before I moved up here a year ago. I spent a ton of time east of Eugene in the mountains and know of a few trails/camping spots east and south, but not much between us in Portland and Eugene. I am sure they are there though! though most of the country connecting us off of I5 is high and may be in snow this time of year. maybe we could spark up enough poeple around here to do a day run somewhere. nothign crazy, just a chance to get out and meet some people and play on the trails. lets keep this going!

Yeah my Dad's from Eugene andi I know the SE area REAL well as well as the Mackenzie River area... Mt St. Helens is AWESOME!!! WHen I used to go to Clark in Vancouver (played Soccer there) I used to get a wild hair and take off and drive up to Stevenson etc. and Mt. St. Helens... I LOVE the HWY 14 area...

I'm with you, we really could do well to have a meet-n-greet trail run sometime. SO many good folks here on Expo to meet n person.

a stock pro-4x will be fine! just some light wheeling to stretch the legs a little! maybe 2 weekends from now? what do you guys say? just somewhere within an hour or two of Portland for the day?

works for me. actually the girlfriends mom is in town so they have plans to do things women do, and I am stuck to my own devices! ha. 4rescue, you in? Saturday March 5th? Anyone else in Portland area wanna go for a day run?

I'm down. I'm not locked, but with the OME suspension and the 33's I do pretty well for an open diff'd truck.

Weekend of the 5th sounds like fun, let's DO IT... Only thing I'm concerned about is that alot of the trails won't be open down in the TSF. The Gorge trails will be I'd imagine, but htere's ALOT of places where there will be deep water and deep mud. Still with 3 trucks we'll be pretty safe and you've got winch DavidS (do you go by Dave or David??? I'm a Dave so I always wonder eh ) so we can sure get in and around just fine. Maybe MK2Gti will want to take his G-Wagen out too. A small group will be nice though cause we can get on wiht it instead of getting LOTS of trucks through... that get's old kinda quick when you;ve only got a day or two to go play...

let's set it up guys. Mike R I'm SURE your Pro4X will be FINE. MT's on that thing probably do pretty dam well I'd guess. I gotta fix an exhaust leak and grease up the suspension and I'm good to go. I'll bring my saw in case anything's down and need clearing...BTW Mike R where in Portland are you??? I'm in Tigard right off 99W and it sounds like DS is real close by in LO.

I am located in Bend and would be down to meet up to hit some trails, I can totally do that wkend. I just moved here from AZ and dont know the area well but would love to go and check out some new areas!
