Ditto for the most part!.....mine have lately quit squeeking.......

Did you do anything to make them stop? I'm considering putting in greasable shackle bolts shortly...

Mine squeek like mad also. I don't mind though, it just reminds me that I have them there.

Quick note on my Deaver 10 pack... They squeek like crazy but have amazing flex and load capacity. Very pleased with the peformance, the squeeks drive me nuts.

My 9 leaf Deavers seem to go through cycles. Some times they squeak, some times they don't. It seems to be worse when they get full of dirt and mud. Otherwise big thumbs up!

My shackles are not greasable but they do not make any noise.....A little mud and water last weekend did the trick.......They go in cycles......Just like my dash......I just turn up the music

My dash hasn't rattled since may!:shakin: My dakars squeek nice and loud. I am pretty sure every leaf that sees weight and offroad use does. I will let you know when I get my Alcans if they have some magical anti squeek power.

I just started researching the Deavers. I love the ride quality of my '05 TRD Sport but the rear bottoms out too easily. Are you guys happy with the on-road ride of the Deavers?

Is that typical of a starter problem to continue to turnover without the key?
Same thing happened on my '94 Toyota 4x4. The engine was shaking so much I couldn't get the battery cables off so I had the bright idea of putting the truck in gear with the parking brake on. Took about 5 seconds for the engine compartment to burst into flames. I burned my hands badly. Of course, I also happened to have ~$20K of guitars and music gear locked in my SnugTop which I couldn't open due to my hands...

Some good samaritans came to my rescue and got the fire out. I replaced all the melted hoses and wires and drove that 22re for another couple years. I miss that truck!

Honestly, my Deavers ride better than the stockers on road. My stock leaves were sagging a touch and every bump in the road would cause the truck to bounce off the overload leaf. The springs are a night and day better both on and off road. I should have done them a whole lot sooner.

I can't speak to the +05 years, but with a 10 pack on an 03, the ride is much stiffer when the truck is completely empty. It needs a bit of weight and once it's there difference is considerable.

I have deavers in my 05 dbl Cab. I was also bottoming out. With my AT trailer it was not pleasant to take around. After Pm'ing Scott, and talking about his Artic setup at the Phoenix Outdoor expo, I decided to go back to deaver. We discussed my bottoming out while "empty" and about the amount of sag due to the AT trailer. Mine flattened out for some reason.

I added two thicker leaves (now a 12 pack) there is a considerable difference in ride. I gained 2 inches of lift in the rear(it looks like the stock angle) and I only drop about 1/2 inch with the trailer. I'm running Donahoe's up front (2.75 lift up front)

I no longer bottom out on rough roads. Very pleased with the changes..

Omg that is one of the craziest stories I have ever heard. I ended up loosening the battery cable and hittting it off with a hammer. How badly did you end up burning your hands? and did you end up losing all the guitars?

All of the damage was confined to the engine compartment. The guitars and gear were saved!

I burned both my palms enough to require bandages for a few weeks. The worst part was not being able to play guitar!:punk03:

I heard alcans are better for carrying weight on a regular basis, anyone have an opinion on this?

Talking loooong term weight... one trip any spring is going to last. I am thinking long term weight like shells\caps, highlifts, etc., I keep two ammo cans in the bed all the time full of equipment that equals 100lbs or so.... I know my stock springs were toast in a year. I guess I should of stated that in the first post.
thanks!

Deaver

In 1998 I was living in So Cal not to far from Deaver, I have a Wildernest Shell on a '98 Tacoma that I do not take off, with the camper and all the equipment for a trip I took the truck to Deaver. They jacked the rear up to the height I needed and manufactured the springs to get that height. That was in 1998, one adjustment in '01, trouble free to date. On the move to OR the Tacoma bed was loaded plus I pulled a 5 X 8 trailer without a problem, still no sag. Nothing but good to say about Deaver Spring Mfg in Santa Ana, they are shown as blacksmiths and do the work right there however you want it.
