Defender Build out

Hello all first post here. Have been having a great time building out our Defender and have spent hours getting ideas and inspiration from many of you so thank you for that.

Took the rig out for a shakedown in Anza Borrego this past weekend where it performed flawlessly. I made a video to introduce a lot of the gear we’ve installed here. Hope you enjoy.

Looks great! How do you like the ladder? I have a 2021 HSE ordered and may still add the expedition rack and ladder to my build.

Thanks! Both the ladder and the rack are fantastic. Vastly superior build quality to my old Frontrunner. The ladder comes in handy loading fuel and gear to rear of roof.

Looks awesome with the wrap. Hope that proves durable. I read somewhere the film has some degree of self-healing in sunlight, which would explain the $4500 option price from the factory....

Thank you I agree. This isn’t the factory wrap but the top films all have self healing. It works really well I’ve used it for years on my track cars.

How hard were the Lucky 8 rock sliders to install - specifically dealing with the factory undertray? I have a set on order for mine and wondering if they are an easy install.
How about some more pictures of the rear storage compartment? I'd like to see some detailed pictures of your fridge box.

Not easy at all. Require a ton of trimming of the cardboard under the car, reworking the mudflaps to fit, etc. I wasn’t impressed with that. The product build is great, their strong as hell. But not something I’d enjoy installing.

Attached some pics of the box build. Came out great. It sucks losing 60% of the horizontal space to a fridge, but you make up for that a bit by being able to stack things on top that you’d otherwise have to move. If I wasn’t such a foodie and the camp chef, I’d go with the 35 size. I feel like the 55 in this box takes up more than double the space the 35 without a box took.

Thanks, I've got a 45 qt Engel so it's a little smaller than your Dometic. Do the full size Wolf boxes fit to the right or are they the smaller Cub boxes? My wife had the ability to completely fill the back of the Discovery 5 we had until we got the 110 and I was wondering how I'm going to compensate for the loss of volume between the two vehicles. The Standard Poodle already has a claim on most of the back seat area.

The full wolf boxes fit perfectly next to the box I built. I believe the 110 has more space behind the 2nd row vs the D5 no? Either way, tons more than my full size RR and quite happy with that.
