Delorme Gazetteer Storage?

Bumping an old thread to see if anything new has come out. I was looking at the map pouch from Blue Ridge Overland Gear, but it only holds 2 maps. I'm looking for something that will hold 5-6 Delorme maps.

We have an "official" Delorme bag. For what we do, it works really well... and because it is made specifically for Delorme Gazeteers it is exactly the right size.

I'm thinking of going with the BRO map pouch. Their website indicates each is designed to store 2 gazetteers, but 3 will fit. Price seems reasonable also and includes free shipping.

There's a lot of soft-side zippered briefcases that ought to work. I had to look up the Delorme dimensions (15.6" x 11"). That's a little too big for zippered portfolios. But most laptop or messenger satchels should work just fine and be close-fitting. Still a lot of added bulk though.

Seems like a nice map-case design with a clear PVC side pouch on the top / side of it would be just the thing. Like a lap desk, where you can fold the book open to the page you want and slide it in the clear-view pocket. With the main compartment having room for additional books or related supplies. Any decent seamstress should be able to readily whip one up. If you look at military map cases you can gather lots of ideas for features / details. Don't forget a carry strap.

This design folds up in half, zippered around the edge and the two zippers are tied together in a way that makes a carry handle / lanyard.

Ended up going with the Trip Planning Bag. I am quite happy with it. The construction seems very sturdy. It has plenty of room for map books and a laptop if you want.

I found this canvas & leather bag in the Men's department at Target. I think it's a man-purse :sombrero: but it fits 7 Gazetter's just fine.

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. I carry 7 Atlases normally and hate to not carry/store them properly. I have been searching everywhere for a solution and I think this is it. Now if I can find them online or at my local store, wonderful.

Paul I think this case is brilliant! I can't tell you how many times the wind on our mountain trails is ripping over the hood of my cruiser when trying to layout my atlas. Look like a grease pen could be used on the plastic?

Either that or a wet-erase (overhead projector) markers. Here or here depending on tip style you want. I use these for marking on laminated charts a lot and they work very well for that.
