So I took my Disco off-road the other night and got stuck pretty bad. Had to leave it running overnight so water wouldn't get in the motor. Fluids are good, but I think the transmission control unit got wet. I'm getting the error code on my OBDii: P0600. Symptoms are:
1) in drive, it stays in a single gear. By my reckoning, it's in third gear.
2) the indicator says I'm in neutral, even if I'm driving in reverse.
3)(I think this is caused by #2) the keylock won't disengage, so my key is stuck in the ignition.
All I've had time to do since then is park her, open everything up to let it air out, and unhook the battery. My parents live in a safe neighborhood in the country, so I left it with them.
I thought I'd start by removing the TCU , disassembling, and cleaning it, before I order a new one.
As it was primarily the left side that got waterlogged, and the TCU is beneath the front left seat, it stands to reason that this is the issue. But since I'm new to land rovers, I thought I'd ask you nice people.
Also, Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks in advance for help or advice!
