Well just got a new to me 1997 Discovery with a 300 TDi conversion! Its getting a the AC conected and there throwing in a rover head unit and manual seats.
So far the good list looks like this...

300TDi
ZF Automatic
Defender 110 springs
Bilstein 5100 shocks
ARB Front Bumper
Warn M8000 Winch
Safety Devices rack (re-powdercoated last week)
4 Hella 4000's (pencil/cornering)
TF Rock Sliders
(5) 245/75-16 BFG AT's

Bad the roof paint is sun burnt!
Im sure there will be more when the truck gets here but no rust in all the right places!

Nice! Looks like you have arrived to your Rover peak! Also if those guys have another rover head unit let me know. I am looking for one right now.

It may have been listed here I got in contact with them through Defender source.
I can ask on the radio. But for about the price of a good head unit you can find a parts Disco.

Did you get this from Geared Restoration? If so, it was a steal for how nice it was...

Yes that the one. I'm pretty excited about how good of shape it is in. I've always missed my old Discovery SD and even though I started out looking of a 110 I'm glad to be back in a Disco.

After getting the head replaced ( Ash at Geared Resterations is a super stand up guy and fixed free of charge) I'll be getting my Disco this weekend and I'm thinking about getting some series steel wheels and getting them panted green or white. Any opinions on how that might look?

Great looking rig. I often think a TDI D1 is the perfect compromise - enough road manners to be practical with all the perks of the diesel

That is a damn good looking truck and only furthering my pang to make a TDi Disco (or wait and bring over a 25yr old rustbucket 3 door...which is a really bad idea that I keep wanting to do).

On the wheels I'd suggest sticking with alloys, Zack's right about the wolf's but I've always found those heavy. Disco steel spares a little lighter but asthetically not as great IMHO. Anyway you slice it, I'm looking forward to the updates.

Thank you. I like the alloys too. I'm pritty excited to get the truck this weekend. I've been out of a 4x4 for a year. My wife nixed my plans for the LR3 cause she wanted it to look street able and not like an off road truck. So needless to say it will be nice it have something to work on again.
