DIY Power Station

Just completed my 100ahr diy power station. battery cells, bms w/ bluetooth and temp sensors $300. figure another $100 for outlets, plugs, wiring, connectors, dust covers, fuse block etc.

Went with the renogy 50a dcdc/mppt charger w BT-2 dongle. (another $300) bottom anderson plug is for truck connection to alternator charging. middle anderson is for solar charging (btw both power sources can be leveraged simultaneously to 25a max per source). NOTE these chargers will only work w solar panels that put out no more than 20v. top anderson plug is for the refrigerator.

the free xiaoxing bms app monitors individual cell voltages and offers a number of features including disabling charging or discharging and charging parameters.

includes 3 barrel plugs (run fan, charge little bt speaker, plug in water pump & LED lighting). plus a cigarette outlet and 2 usb fast charge outlets.

this is my first build. enjoyed the process. MUST GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE! I followed jasonoid's youtube videos. made it very easy and he was incredibly helpful/responsive for the few questions i had.

darn! pic files too big. no option to compress on upload?? got to love revisting 90's tech lol.

will upload when i can snap smaller pics. sorry!

just emailed the pics to myself which compressed them!20220209_144829.png20220209_144813.png20220209_144749.png

You don't have to take smaller pics, just resize them.
In Windows, open the folder the pic is in, right click on the thumbnail, click "edit" (not edit with photo), click "resize" (upper left) click "pixels" enter "1080" for the long side of the pic(a good size for the web. "save" will overwrite original, "save as" will make a copy.
Hope that helps.

Currently tossing around the idea of doing something similar but with an off the shelf lifepo4 battery vs self built. I have always done van and van type builds where I had a dedicated power cabinet with charge controllers, breakers, etc... but as I get ready to build my truck bed camper set up, I want something portable.

My only mental hangups were how to set up the solar and alternator charging (plan was to use the same DCC50S you use as I have use it before) without having dangling Anderson plug dongles. Looks like you solved that with bolting them to the side. Have any more pics of how they are bolted in and same for your 12V barrel plugs for the fans?

dont have more pics but the way i approached mounting the stuff on the side (anderson plugs and charger) was to use rounded screw heads on the inside to prevent any sharp corners, w large washers to provide more support. everything mounted on top has a backing nut that compresses against the lid on the inside. each outlet came w its own backing nuts.

Personally, i think the pics you used are too small. I can't zoom in enough to see some detail.

Please post up some more pics of the Anderson mounting
