So here's an oddball question: Do you all leave your camp stove out overnight?

I have always stowed all of my cooking gear overnight. Even my aluminum chuckbox usually gets put away, although lately I've started leaving it out on the stand but locked up at night if I'm in an area without any critters larger than a chihuahua. But I have always stowed the camp stove (it doesn't go in the chuckbox). Mostly I do this to avoid rust or other problems due to condensation overnight, but I also have a niggling concern that I missed some food or grease in the cleanup.

Recently though, I'd come to really despise the multi-step (and noisy) process of opening the van, retrieving the stove, reconnecting the fuel supply, and sometimes priming it (when using coleman fuel). As a result of that loathing, I switched to mostly using a small butane "catering" burner, since at least it was quicker to setup and get working, which meant I could have the coffee going before I made enough noise to rouse the wife and kid out of bed.

There's always the chance I'm being a bit precious here, so I'm wondering how many folks just close the lid on their stove and leave it setup for the next day.

I don't put the stove away at night. Ever. Food box & cooler only.
If some critter wants to clean the grease off my old Coleman stove, I'll give him a hot dog as a reward.

For coffee in the morning I use a jet boil. Used for heating water only, it stays out as well.

In my corner of the world, leaving anything that smells of food out is an open invitation for a bear to visit camp or cabin.

The only time I would put my stove away would be if I was in a populated campground, just to make sure it would still be there in the morning. Then again, who would want my 30 years old Coleman, and I've never been to bear country with it.

When I use a stove, I put it away. Not really concerned about critters, its just easier for me to repack if I keep stuff semi organized.
I used to use the campfire nearly 100% but went back to using a stove when they started instituting harsh penalties during a fire ban.
Been searching for the perfect stove ever since and mostly use either the old Svea 123r or the trusty/rusty propane 2 burner Coleman, although an Emberlit sees occasional daytrip duty...
Enjoy!

I usually leave mine out, but cleaned and folded down with the lid clamped shut. The exception is when we are in bear country, then it goes into the bear locker, or trailer or whatever makes sense.

I have a fairly big layout and it's just not in the cards the worst that's happened was a furry friend took a Dutch oven for a walk. We found it no worse the wear and probably cleaner than its been in a while lol

I have a Coleman Exponent Rendezvous stove. Too expensive (for me) to leave out, especially in bear country. It's not that difficult to pull it out and put on the stove slide on my tailgate.

I'm a bit of a minimalist and a chronic organizer. Since I don't take much, it's easy to tidy up my camp in the evenings by putting everything away, or at least tucked away so nothing is exposed to the elements.
