Wow, that's gotta be freakin loud. That's one thing I don't like about Toyota's is the lame horn.

Are hella horns isolated with some sort of switch or will they always work with the factory horn?

It's powered directly from the battery and actuated via relay wired to the OEM horn.

Off Roading Essentials

One part of a buildup that never gets much attention is all the little stuff that you will need to have a safe trip in the back country. Recovery gear, airing down, airing up, and flat tire repair were at the top of my list as I have seen all of these items save the day when 'wheeling with friends.

Here is what I have come up with so far for "Off Roading Essentials": Hi-Lift, Block, shackle and two straps (20" and 30"), receiver shackle, Staun Deflators, A good tire gauge, Tire repair kit (plugs), and an Air pump.
Also, common sense items like duct tape, tools, shovel, trash bags, WATER, MRE's, first aid, clothing/blanket, CB/2M radio, gloves, etc.

Here is my Kit so far:

A Warn block for double line pull:

Staun Tyre Deflators:

El Cheapo Air Pump from ebay, 33% duty cycle:

Tire Repair Kit from Northern Tool:

Doc,
How much did you lift the truck after installing the Donahoe coilovers? I'm warming up to the 255-85-16 MTs but don't want to lift the suspension a lot to accomodate them. I wouldn't mind an inch, but don't want to go up to the 3" lift that the Toytec users get, as I don't imagine that's too healthy for the CVs, nor do I want a tall truck running around on skinny tires for everyday driving.

I have them set at 2.5, I like the increased clearance. CV issues were on the pre-04 Tacos, front end design is different on ours so CV's are not an issue even at 3.0 acording to Demello.

Didn't notice... can't believe I missed that!!!

I don't think we are ever going to see a decent bumper with tire carrier for less than $1k.

I wonder if Scott ever got anymore information from that company out of Israel - I think they are called Asfir. They had some decent products at really good prices that they were set to import into North America. Don't know if it ever happened...

I'm pretty picky I guess.
Since I have the square sliders and the ARB plate bumper, I'm thinking that tubes out back wouldnt look too good. IMO tubes arent as strong as square. I need something back there that is plate/square with side protection, good departure, and a provision for towing.
