Looking great! One thing I don't think you have mentioned, is how you're keeping the camper attached to the truck? Are you just using topper clamps? I can't tell from your pictures.

Great work though, you've given me inspiration to try something similar.

Looks awesome. Great work.

With the current lumber prices, this is an expensive shell.

Looks good and sturdy. Nice job!

Thanks, it has definitely been the learning experience so far.

I have 4 3/8" bolts two on each side that go through the bottom 2x4 through the top of the bed. Also have some smaller fasteners in the back upright 2x4s into the bed.

Yeah originally I went with wood since it was alot cheaper and I had a bunch laying around. I had planned a larger cabover with a steel frame but with steel being much more expensive but not anymore. That's also why progress has slowed since the cost has gone up to much.

Had a large set back today, noticed the skin I put on the top to cover the foam had started falling down after a single day.
So the hardware store was out of my usual glue so I grabbed something else from the same manufacturer, turned out to be a big mistake. The glue has failed and ruined all the foam. Not sure if I can use the right glue and just put in new foam or if the remaining glue will ruin any new foam I put in making me build a whole new top.

Ended up ripping the the foam out scrapped off the high points on the glue painted it and stuck in new foam.

Finally got the right glue for the job and finished up putting the skins on.

I was going to do a full pop up top but because of time constraints I decided just hinge from the front, hopefully that will be enough room. Just made some simple hinges and now just waiting on the gas struts to show up.IMG_20210713_204254033.jpgIMG_20210715_203912755.jpgIMG_20210715_203900426~2.jpg

Got alittle more time today so I made some more brackets for the lift shocks. Looks like I'll have plenty of room up top for sleeping and can even sit up straight under the end of the room. Don't mind the rear door I have better shocks on order for it. It was fine when I started but with insulation and skins it just opened less and less.
