A friends dog chewed my keyless remote to my 2001 XJ. Jeep dealer says $60 plus $100 to program. I found a place on line that sells them and claims to send insturctions to program it your self. Has anyone had any experience with this.
Thanks

I ordered a remote online for my Xterra for something like $12 and it came with the instructions. Worked perfectly since day one. $100 for programming is a rip, it is just a series of functions inside the vehicle in the right order.

Definitely save the money and order online!

I was my thinking the same thing.....

My dog ate a Popsicle stick last month....day later had a present on the lawn....Boy was i lucky!

they are paying for it just didnt want them to spend more than they have to.

You are a good friend to have!

your getting off cheap at $60 lol. for some unknown reason my Magnum only came with 1 key. they said it would be about $230 for the key programed. neatless to say we still only have one key 3 years later.

We program keys and remotes all the time at work...most of the time the instructions are in the owner's manual. If not, all but once I found them by Googling a bit. Its amazing how little money you have to spend for a chipped key or remote. Equally amazing is how much the dealer charges for them! I've only come across one "bad" chipped key, and it was from the dealer.
