The thing with Google calender is that its an online thing and its another way that someone may be looking at what your doing.

Mac users have something like this as iCal which works as a personal calendar as well as broadcasting out to your peeps - the basic one is free

Apple licensed the iCal name from them

http://www.brownbearsw.com/ical/

Cal is a Web Calendar Server for all flavors of Microsoft Windows. It is an event calendar that can be used for scheduling meetings, events, vacations, menus, or just about anything else. This calendar can be for personal use or for sharing on your Intranet or Internet. iCal has a Web Browser Interface that allows dynamic updating of the calendar events. Since iCal comes with a built in Web Server, an existing Web Server environment is not required.

Palm Desktop

The Palm Desktop is a free download for Mac or PC... you do not need a Palm to use it... I have tried the Palm, Google and iCal calenders.... none worked perfect for me... I went back to a paper planner this year ; )

Ya I'm looking for something pretty plain and simple.

I use Mozilla Sunbird. It's free, simple and doesn't have to "interact" with the internet. You can find it here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/

Thanks for the link, it looks good. I'm trying it out.

Only thing that bothers me is this.

"DURING THE MOZILLA SUNBIRD INSTALLATION PROCESS, AND AT LATER TIMES,
YOU MAY BE GIVEN THE OPTION OF INSTALLING ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS FROM
THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE PROVIDERS. THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF THOSE
THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS MAY BE GOVERNED BY ADDITIONAL LICENSE
AGREEMENTS."
