Dream Expedition vehicle

Clutch

<---Pass
I would love to have something like this Unicat Man, something I could really live out of and carry a couple of dirtbikes in a "garage" in the back of the vehicle. Yes, very over the top, but, you did say "Dream Vehicle"

Good thing you won't need to do emissions on that thing.

Would it even pass? Not in California. I heard this on the news that all dairy's are one of the gross polluters in the state.

I've always been partial to this one.

It's the Bucher Duro, the replacement to the Pinzgauer for the Swiss military.
I like that it can be loaded in a 20' container without help, making it much more reasonable to transport overseas. Size is just about right so you can still get into some tight places, something important for the type of places I like to go.

I LOVE that Bucher Duro...the hard-sided popup is such a great design.

Just went to the website...bummer...outside shower, only carrys 30 gallons of H2O, and no mention of a toilet either (cassette or otherwise)...No mention of price either but it's probably around $200K...gotta have an inside shower for those $$$$

Bucher Duro

Size wise the Bucher Duro would be a hard package to beat. I saw that exact model in a rocky river bed down in Batolpilas, Copper Canyon with Euro plates. The top was popped, lights on, back door open.....

Had I met them on the road I would have stopped to talk. I generally don't like to disturb anyone set up in a wilderness camp. It rained like a bugger that night - my wife and I couldn't help but wonder if they were alright...

We camped with the people that own a white MAN 6X6 just like the one in the picture for 2 weeks last summer. My wife said it made her feel like she was "slumming" in our U500 Unicat.

Land Rover 130 Crew Cab

As I mentioned previouly I've often appreciated the virtues of Land Rover's 130 Crew Cabs. I found these promo photos on the web from a South African company called AluCab. It looks as though the conversion is similar to our North American slide-outs.

I figured I'd post them..... an update to the specs of my dream world travel truck.

Low cost
Simple repair
Replacement parts available in all parts of the world
Negligable environmental impact
Maximum ability to reach remote locations.

That said, I'd still love to have a VAB chassis and build it up...
