I was afraid of that.

I'm still not ready to completely let go of street manners yet....I just want a bit more traction than the TKCs give me in the dirt.

Maybe I just need to get the hoopty running so I can take the 800GS off of street duty....

How is the 908 on the street? Does it balance well (at all)? Unfortunately, I spend a fair amount of time on the freeway getting to the trails (don't trailer the bike anywhere...)...

How stiff is the 908 (read: how big of a pain is it to break down in the field)?

The 908 is a dirt tire and you will give up road manors. IMO well worth it for the traction you get in the dirt.

Flat repairs are easy... under 20min in the field (with a center stand; replacing the tube, not patching).
