Dumb Question: Where do I find my Callsign?

Fergie

I've looked on QRZ, FCC and ARRL, and can't find anything. Am I being a bit too ancy, or is there a trick to the search engines and criteria?

Thanks

G

Ah, you must of just got passed your test for a ham license.

Easiest Way
------------
http://www.qrz.com/i/names.html

type in your real name

Another Way - although it's a very picky search engine
------------
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchAdvanced.jsp

select....

Service Group: Amateur
State: (put in the state you live in, speeds up search)
Name: (last name, first name)

NOTE: Put a COMMA between your last and first name or it doesn't work!

Thank you!

Nothing yet, so I wait some more.

I recall the VEC saying to allow 7 to 10 days for your callsign to show up. With mine, it showed up first on the FCC sight, and the next day on QRZ. Our VEC said to touch base with him if our callsign was not issued within 10 days.

And Congrats!!!!

I would hope it shows up on the FCC website first considering they're the ones that issue the callsigns.

QRZ downloads parts of the FCC public database and rehosts it.

The first place its going to appear is in the FCC ULS database.

You will need to search by FRN but you can search.

Not neccessarily, if you click on Advanced search, then "Amateur" in the middle of the page, you can search by your name, region, VEC location, etc...

Names have to be in this format: last, first

Congrat's on your license. I just got mine too! I spent this afternoon rigging up my truck with the radio. Very first scan landed on 446.125 and i was listening to JPL talk to the Space Shuttle during an operation with the remote arm thingie. That was so cool!
