Edgestar Slider and extra Drawer

The cage idea is something i was planning but out of plywood to match my cabinets (Big one ton bed) Yours is much better! Love the idea. I might just get in line too.

For slides, check here:

If the link doesn't work, it's page 2986 of the catalog.
Full extension slides with 200+ lbs rating for 50 - 75 dollars, depends on slide length. Weight rating seems just right...not overkill.
I will probably try the 24" slides when I finally get around to building it.

For those with too much money, they have stainless, too, on the next page...for just a *bit* more coin.

This will probably have to wait until after New Years. I have a few other projects to work out on the home front. The COO of the house has re-directed my "manufacturing division"...:violent-smiley-031:

I have some baby room furniture to build and some other remodeling projects that have been entered as "work orders":littlefriend:

I suppose I have let the honey do list get a little too long.

Well that's a bummer. Was hoping you'd have these sooner.

You need to teach the COO about Specialization of Labour. You make your product and sell it, then use that money to hire somebody to do the other jobs. ;)

Any movement on making the slides?

I'm still messing around with the idea. I'm working on jigs to make the frame and looking at heavier duty slides. I'm even engineering a spring loaded release instead of the removable pin on the one I have.

Do you think a 150lb slide would be enough? I thought of the Accuride locking slides that are 500lb but they are $130/pr!:Wow1:

If you start getting into a "business" selling these, you should try and get some sort of contractor discount from a supplier.
It seems like you've got at least 1/2 dozen people that would be interested, buying 6 sets of heavier slides from a supplier may get your foot in the door so to speak. It doesn't hurt to ask. ;)

I think most people focus on how much the slides can hold when extended. Another concern is that the slides need to be beefy enough to hold the fridge in place in case of an accident or roll over. A packed fridge probably weighs over 100 lbs. I think I need something rated for at least double the loaded weight, but I'm just going off gut feel.

I know this is an older thread, however, can you post the dimensions of the cage and slide? I am trying to build one exactly like it and would love to save some time.
