Garbage bag holder.

This one just hit me like a ton of bricks the other day, but it'll only be practical for those using the tent low, such as on a trailer or over the truck bed.

Along the same lines, the garbage bag holder untill bed time that is because I would not want any critters getting too close after smelling the table scraps...:Wow1:

Adding light to a RTT

I just bought a set of these to install in my EEZI AWN.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50119407

When posed with the question of white or multicolor including white. I could not resist the temptation to have a disco in my RTT. Much to the raised eyebrow of my wife. But My son was all for the idea. Hey what is wrong with a little qwerky fun.

Install happens tonight. I will post pictures. Overall the product is very versitile and it is expandable. and should easily be adapted to the interior of the RTT.

Yes.

there is an inline transformer 120v AC to 12v DC. Cut the transformer off and a quick test with a volt meter to determine + and - and I am ready to hook up to a battery. Since they are LED they will have very low amp draw. I will test that too. The LED's are incased in Polycarbonate. and attach by clips screwed to the ridge pole of the tent. You could use glue or tape or velcro as well. but I don't think those would work as well as a Mechanical fastener.

Only downside. the wire and switch is white. I am going to try to paint it with some of that plastic paint that chemically bonds to dye the wires black so they blend in a bit better. But the construction seems to be sturdy enough once installed to stand up to overland use. but only putting it to use will tell.

I saw these in IKEA the last time I was forced to go with my wife... I am anxiously awaiting the results. My RTT needs lighting, and the wife would certainly be up for another IKEA trip.

The food at ikea isn't bad but its so huge and it takes so long ok I'm not going back for 6 moths. I do like the lights though. I usually use my ARB adventure light suspended from the ceiling and flick it on when need be. A little flair is always ok!

I will post a quick install guide tonight with pictures. I installed them lastnight and can say the results are very positive. Plenty of white light for reading. I even sat out by the trailer after the intall tuned on some bob marley and cyled the lights through their colors while sipping a margarita BSing with my neighbors. I can't wait to repeat that this weekend in the mountains.

Overall. install is very easy. and yes they work off of 12V. I ended up doing a no drill install with industrial quality double sided tape. Those suckers are not coming off. and if there is ever a problem with the wiring. It came with 3 sets of spares the way I installed them.

I may get another set and light up the bottom of the tent overhang as well.

Check this out-

12"+ bungy cord through the center of the paper towels. Used it in the overhead cubby of my Freightliner when I was OTR.

Glory is that you can put it anywhere and w/ minimal strength usage (my wife is pregnant w/ our #2), it's retro-quick-disconnect.

No pics, sorry. Most of you can visualize what a bungy looks like through a roll of paper towels. :)
