Thanks for all the helpful info about obtaining a permit. Downloaded the application and am filling it out. Hopefully I have all the right information for them.

Let's hope that there will be no disfiguring injuries "due to highly explosive detonations from falling objects" :smileeek:

I have a room reserved at the same hotel now, too. I'm a run-of-the-mill mortal with a day job, so I won't be rolling into Yuma until 8 or 9. If anyone is not going to bed that early, I'll probably have an impulsive craving for a cerveza when I arrive. Hint hint.

I'll be attending the dinner on Thurs. night, and then heading towards the trail where I will find a place to camp. I'll just meet up with the group when they roll into the area on Friday morning. If anyone cares to join me for camping, feel free! I will be spending my hotel money on fuel for the truck and myself :chowtime:

Received my permit in the mail. Took about 10 days from my mailing in the application.

Just curious if you initialed item #13? ... which states:

" __ I have watched the Visitor Safety and Responsibilities video."

I did check that item, I also included my expired permit for support.

Don't tell anybody, but I never saw the video when my old permit was issued. They couldn't find it at the Cabeza Prieta NWR office. They said "your not going to area B, so no need".

Where are you planning on camping, in the area of Fortuna Mine Rd.?
