Electric convertors for Tanzania

OK my wife will be leaving to go back home to Tanzania soon for a visit and I need to know what all I need to get to run her computer, chargers for cameras/phones and all of her other electrical "stuff " she is taking home.
Also a place to buy it would help, she left 5 years ago and can not remember what all is needed so any info would be great. Her parents are not into computers and do not know what is needed either

Thanks a bunch

Hey, Tom,
On my last trip to Tanzania/Kenya, all I needed was an outlet adapter so my chargers would plug in.
All of my chargers will take voltages from 120-240 volts (240 is most common in East Africa IIRC) and produce appropriate output voltage.
If you're off the grid, you might need to look into alternative power sources, such as solar, auto adapters and such.
Maybe others have some thoughts as well...
Oh, I also take along a surge protected power strip with 4-5 outlets on it. That way I can recharge multiple items at the same time.

Cheers!

What Ed said. Most laptop and other chargers these days are multi-voltage capable; all you need is an outlet adapter. We get ours online; it's easy to find which countries use which types of outlet. IIRC Tanzania is UK.

Thanks everyone, my first trip there I only took cameras, no computers or anything else like that so was unsure. Trying to read up online on what all was needed, but I knew I could get good trusted info on here

I am a little late getting into this discussion. I have taken a plug strip and used just the plug adapter, as stated above, to power several 110/220 devices in Uganda and Uruguay, (obviously different plug). Have fun, I am heading back to Kampala in January, and again in June.
