Ember Overland Series

The full size models look interesting. Not on the level of OPUS, OBI, Boreas, etc for off-road capability but neither is the price tag. Might be a good fit for me as I’m just looking for something that will handle really bad fire roads/old mine roads and that won’t rattle to pieces. Anyone know anything about this company or have experience with the composite wall panels they’re using?

Looks like they’re just starting to roll some production models out. None of the smaller 22 footers are on RVtrader yet. Would be interested to walk through one and see what the build quality looks like

I was quite excited to check one of these out and seriously considering the bunkhouse with slide. I came away a bit disappointed in the quality. The door to the bathroom wouldn’t close and was visually out of square, the outdoor kitchen wouldn’t retract after we opened it (dealer and I stopped short of apply significant force) and there were the minor misaligned things you’d expect with a mass market trailer.

I really wanted to like them since the specs are great on paper and the heating and solar systems are slick, but I can’t wrap my head around spending $50K on something with such glaring issues.

I’d say interior quality on the couple Forest River products I looked at was better despite lower cost and I really wanted that not to be the case.

But why? China makes some crap and some amazing stuff like the iPhone. Why can’t Indiana do the same?!?!

My guess it's just in thier DNA. Mass production drives retail prices down which creates more mass production. I guess if they fall apart sooner people buy more newer units.

Just checking in to see if Ember has improved lately. Just saw a video of I guy who gave up and sold his at a loss.
I remember many of us discussing the Ember on this forum and YT when it first rolled out. After looking at the dual axle models carefully, some of us mentioned that it will be interesting to see how many of these units will be seen on the sides of dirt roads broken down in the future. At first we thought maybe a good move would be to buy one and either put a lot of money into upgrading it or just selling it and buying a new one every couple of years. They are that much cheaper than other trailers to consider those options. In the end, we thought the hassles of Ember ownership might not be worth the savings in dollars. Embers put a lot of effort into looking good when new and not enough into long term durability. They have probably taken the title of "The Jayco of the Off Road Market" away from the Black Series!

After keeping tabs on a couple the Ember related Facebook groups they became an absolute no go for me. Too many people having issues that simply point to poor quality control in manufacturing and many were having a lot of issues getting the issues taken care of. To be fair, like reading reviews of anything, you probably mostly see only the smaller subset of issues discussed and not positive experiences. I just wasn't going to be able to except the flaws I was reading about despite the price. They still aren't cheap by mass produced trailer standards and it is arguable if the quality is that much better.
