Well, we'll probably be making this 3 for 3 as Beth has a continuing education conference in NC that we may be going to. I'll find out tonight for sure. If the get together is not in Oct; how about in the spring of 07 or the summer of?

Is there interest in salvaging this trip if we do WV? Same date...or change it?

Saddens me everyone wont be there, although i realize thats a rarity that noone backs out on a trip.

Appears so....i'll be going somewhere....and doing something. Probably end up at Pa's Grand Canyon for a few days.

We should probably attempt another gathering next year. Maybe start a planning thread around Jan? Maybe we tried to get this together too quickly?

Well, I have read all seven pages of this thread several times!!

There was/is a very strong interest by many, from many locations.

As we all know...life happens! Understandably as much as everyone would LIKE to do this...
...you know the rest.

Unfortunately with my work schedule I only get one weekend a month off.
In October it is the weekend of 14,15. My vacation time has depleated due to some personal issues, just not an option for me, for this year.

Most of the posts here where in favor of West Virginia/Virginia area.

Most did not object to moving date.

I REALLY hate to see this fall apart!!

If I may suggest we get together and finalize this for the WV location, for the dates 10-14,15,16.

Is there anyone else intersted in this? I believe it can still be done, maybe not to the extent we had anticipated...but, a good time can still be had!

I still intend to participate. I was just waiting for plans to solidify before giving a final "yay" or "nay". Even if its just a few of us, I think we can still have a really good time.

Johnny B - Maybe we could do a Canyon trip for Thankgiving? I smell a turkey in the deep frier again! They open up a lot of trails for hunting season.

If I can get some stuff sold to free up some cash for a Gear swap and 33's I may be intersted as well.

I'm Flexible on the date. I have a week of Vaction already scheduled for first week of OCT but I can move it around as long as I can give a couple weeks notice.
WV or LBL is fine. Both places I would like to visit. Both are probably about the same travel time to get too.

Jeff, are those dates not the same you planned to camp between your Deer and Bear hunts? I think i see your plan, but thats alot of packing up and moving back and forth from Potter County to WV. But you know i'd like you to meet Cowboy and CShontz.

Hope fully with a new date it'll be better for a few more attendees?

Cowboy....we havent done a Turkey Day trip in awhile...last year my son went and they had tons of snow. I'll warm up the Turkey Fryer...:eatchicke

The Dolly Sods and Canaan Valley area look to be about 25-30 miles? North of Elkins,WV 26241
