Looking awesome. Is there a possibility to do a custom side vent that sucks air in, as opposed to a roof vent?
G`day Adam88
Dust is the enemy, once it gets in hard to get out. We tried one way vents on the very first EC, we could not get it to work reliably. A sprinkle of rain was all it took for the accumulated dust around the vent to get sticky and now we had a problem. Designers of vehicles that spend most of there time on the road don`t have the design challenges we builders of overland vehicles do, that I think is what makes it fun, besides, If it was easy.....
I have been searching for a automated system that we could have fitted bellow the roof line, no luck so far.EarthCruiser EC1 testing.jpg

Looking good !
What system are you proposing for A/C please ? (12 volt I imagine)
Thanks

G`day Bob
DC Air con is trIcky, getting all the bits to play nice is hard. We use components from Artic Breeze, and build from there, this is what we decided to do with the EXD.
We have tested many of the shelf domestic units out there, most are not much chop. It might be worth spending some time checking into Webasto. They have a unit fitted to prime movers (big trucks) in Europe and Aus, it has proven to be decent. As far as I know not available in the USA.
Sorry I don`t have a better answer for you.

Update time.

The EXD-350 is getting very real.
One model - many many applications -
Flat Bed fit up ready or we build it into your OverLand Dream Truck.
More details very soon.
What we have been up to -

EXD _BUILD2.jpg
All that horrid MDF in the bin where it belongs. The corners will be glassed on the inside, they are already done on the out side. The floor will be painted, we don't use vinyl on the floor. We use a very similar compound that the vinyl is made from and paint the floor with it. Seals up 100% and no where for crap to get under the vinyl in years to come.
Don`t try it at home with out practice, it is a bugger to sand back and redo when it looks like crap.
EXD _BUILD4.jpg
Only because it is hard to see when the inside is complete - this is the outside/inside storage opening. Fully sealed inside and out.
EXD_BUILD9.JPG
Mock up kitchen bench pre fitted for the last time. Production one has a wine rack.
EXD_BUILD10.JPG
More fun stuff is arriving.
EXD _BUILD9.jpg
The EXD is ONLY available with a Lithium Battery System, serious juice.

Dinette

Under dinette / bed storage.

We have built it for real and it works a treat.
The system is fully automated and takes seconds to convert either way.
And the mattres stays in place, so no need to remake the bed each time.
That would suck and I am lazy.

Have a great week.
Lance

Looking really awesome. Those mastervolt lithium ion batteries and inverter are really cool. Top of the line all the way. This should be great. I cant remember if you said it or not, but is there going to be a pass-thru option in this?

Thanks Adam88
We are having way to much fun at work building this, it is great for the crew to get some of there many great ideas into a new model.
Pass through is an option for built trucks for sure, doable on flat bed but more on how that is going to work in practice soon.
