EXD 350 - EarthCruiser on flat bed

Since RAM trucks no longer makes an extended cab, could the be put on a crew cab and still have a pass through? Having the extra cab room seems more desirable than the regular 2 door cab.

Lance that is the new Ram 1500 for the USA. The new heavy duty Ram will be out later, and revealed to the public in January at the Detroit Auto show
Thanks Darwin
We where looking at Dodge in Europe (they are getting very popular over there) and i could not remember seeing the new body style in the USA. That is a smart looking truck, can`t wait to see what AEV will do with them.

This is great ! Congratulations on your amazingly fast progress !

Agree that an AEV will be a nice combination ;)

The Wrappon potty looks very interesting, too. I think my wife would be happy about it.

From the drawing in the email (also on p.7), was wondering if there will be a fixed roof version, or did i misunderstand ?

Thanks !

All EXD-350 campers can have a pass through. :)

I am lucky enough to work with a first rate crew, it is me who needs to keep up
We like the wrap on because it uses no water and contains odors (important in a small space...) we plan on that being the standard.
Thetford cassette (C400) or the Natures head composting are also option customers can choose for the EXD, we have discovered people take there dunnies (toilet) very personally and want some options!
We can make EXD-350 as a hard side, it would get a bit high on the back of the truck. Inside layout would be the same either way.
With the lifting roof one gets 360 degree view from the inside and over 76 inches (1900mm) head room.

Hi Lance,

Thank you for the fast reply :D

Waterless also makes sense for something that gets bumped around a lot, too...

Very good to hear that there are options. Wives' opinions have a major impact with regard to such things.

Good news about the hard side option and agree it would get a bit (much too ?) high back there. The interest is being able to comfortably winter camp in Michigan's Upper Peninsula... My wife wants to see the aurora and also a moose. i am still in trouble about that.

Some of our very best travels in the US have been in winter, few people go and with decent 4x4 it is a wonderful white world out there ( especially for an Aussie who had never seen such things.)
EXD-350 come standard with www.webasto.com/gb/markets-products/motorhomes/heating-solutions/integrated-heaters/dual-top-evo/ . In our EXP (on a FG) we have been very comfy @ -13F (-25c) with dual top. Not that we have ever needed to but if it got really cold we can san drop the roof and sleep with the roof down. Head room top of mattress roof down 28” (71.1 cm) for both EXP and EXD.

Well, that certainly does help make the case for a pop-top...

We have seen -20°F on previous trips to the UP, so that is good to know.

That Dual Top is very nice :)

What about A/C for those of us that live in the South? Unless we're at 4,000 feet+ camping in the Summer in Tennessee is miserable. A/C would be nice to have.

I think it is going to be tough to put A/C in such a small package. But if anyone can do it, it is the earthcruiser guys, but frankly I dont think it works or makes sense to take up permanent space in such a small camper for something most people will only use a few weeks a year.

Here's an idea... for the few times you use A/C, if you go with the pass-thru option, then I would just idle the truck and put the truck A/C on full blast. It will definitely be powerful enough to cool off the camper. These domestic 1 ton truck A/C's are super high BTU and they are meant for cooling off a crew cab truck in a few seconds flat. Leave that running and it will cool down the whole camper just fine I would think. Yes idling sucks but it's only a few weeks a year if things get REALLY hot.

I wouldn’t want to leave the truck idling all night so I don’t think that this is a good option and by a few weeks you mean from May through September...

Air con is going in the first unit. We split the system up to take up less space and better control heat and noise. Works great on lithium batts.
