for the return trip....was it a drive straight through as fast as possible?

are the border crossings easier/quicker coming back? (you would have documentation from the weeks before, etc)

did everyone drive/ride back or did some fly?

Yes, yes and No.

The return trip was straight up the PanAm Hwy, very little detouring and some decent haul days to get back.

The borders are in fact easier, in several of the countries we know the vehicles would be coming back through so we were able to suspend the temp vehicle imports rather than cancel and for others they had the vehicles in the system so it was a bit quicker. Lastly, some did fly home so there was a lot less gear in the rigs making the borders a bit quicker.

Hope that answers your questions!

This show is what spurred my interest in overlanding and have started planning a trip up into Alaska from Texas and has already gotten me out on many multiple smaller trips.

While it may or may not be perfect it definitely has started a fire in me to get out there.

I've very excited to see what's in store for season 3.

Also... first post!

I found my self re-watching episodes last night while waiting for my jet (work not my personal jet) to get out of fuel repair.

Kurt cracked me up again laying on the cannon. "Connon goes boom" lol

So far this winter I've re-watched AK/YK twice ... Central America once .... and the Northwest Series about three times!

I fully expect the team to push on through South America, which IMO would be cool with a nice mix of culture and geography. Central America ... I'm personally not a fan of, but the team did a great job in producing the series.

It would be nice to see some new episodes of weekend trips similar to the Northwest Series (I really enjoy the flavor of those original episodes)... There is still so much more to see (and produce) from just the Pacific Northwest/West alone ....

Hey @cruiseroutfit Kurt,

Forgot to ask you or Clay at Expo East.

What size propane tank are you guys running?
How many times did you refill or what issues did you face with the size/storage/security of it?

The tanks are the 5 gallon offerings available from Adventure Trailers. It was stored inside the shell of the Tacoma so no security issues. We refilled it just a single time on the trip as I recall.
